Job description

We are looking for a Director of SEO who lives and breathes search.

This is not a people manager who delegates strategy from a spreadsheet. We are looking for someone who still enjoys getting into the weeds, solving technical SEO and GEO problems, building winning content strategies, and staying ahead of every major change in Google Search, AI Overviews, and answer engines. Ultimately, working with our product team to use AI to automate and improve the effectiveness of these strategies.

Our clients are primarily highly competitive law firms where SEO directly impacts revenue. Every recommendation must be backed by data, prioritization, and measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical SEO expertise with strong leadership, operational discipline, and an obsession with continuous learning.

What You'll DoSEO Strategy
  • Develop and lead SEO strategies that increase organic visibility, qualified leads, and client growth.
  • Conduct technical SEO audits and create prioritized action plans based on business impact.
  • Stay ahead of Google's evolving algorithms, AI Overviews, and emerging search trends.
Client Leadership
  • Serve as the strategic SEO partner for key client accounts.
  • Present recommendations and performance updates with confidence.
  • Partner with internal teams to execute SEO initiatives successfully.
Technical SEO
  • Lead technical audits using tools such as Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and GA4.
  • Identify opportunities related to crawlability, indexation, schema, internal linking, site architecture, page performance, redirects, and content quality.
  • Work closely with developers to implement technical recommendations.
Local SEO & Content
  • Develop local SEO strategies focused on Google Business Profiles, citation consistency, and location page optimization.
  • Build content strategies that support both traditional search and AI driven search experiences while strengthening E-E-A-T signals.
Product Development and R&D
  • Work with our product and engineering teams to be at the forefront of automating and improving the ROI of what we deliver to our customers 
Leadership
  • Mentor SEO team members and establish best practices across the department.
  • Improve internal processes, documentation, and reporting standards.
  • Help shape the future direction of our SEO services.
QualificationsRequired
  • 7+ years of SEO experience with strong technical SEO expertise.
  • Experience leading SEO strategy for multiple clients or brands.
  • Advanced proficiency with Ahrefs and Google Search Console.
  • Experience with Screaming Frog, GA4, and Looker Studio.
  • Comfortable reading HTML and basic PHP.
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO, schema, internal linking, site architecture, local SEO, and Google Business Profiles.
  • Knowledge of AI Overviews, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and modern search trends.
  • Exceptional communication and client presentation skills.
Preferred
  • Law firm SEO experience.
  • Experience leading or mentoring SEO teams.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and technical website implementations.

Compensation & Benefits

Pursuant to applicable pay transparency laws, the Company reasonably expects the salary range for this position to be $120,000 to $145,000 annually.
