Mental Health & Financial Wellness Therapist - Lmsw

Honest Hour LLC

Jersey City, NJ • Remote

$60/hr

Full-time

Re-posted 17 days ago

Job description

Remote — New York licensure required; additional compensation for dual NY/NJ licensure

This role requires active licensure and residency in New York. Candidates who are not currently NY-based will not be considered for this position.

Employment type: W-2, Full-Time

Compensation: Starting at $40/hr (clinical) | $20/hr (admin & community engagement)

Most therapy practices treat financial stress as background noise. At Honest Hour, we treat it as clinical material.

We're hiring a full-time Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to join our financial therapy track — a dedicated pathway for clinicians who believe that money, identity, and emotional well-being are deeply connected and want to build a practice that reflects that.

This isn't a financial coaching role. You'll carry a full general therapy caseload while developing a specialization in the intersection of mental health and financial wellness — with direct mentorship from a Certified Financial Social Worker and up to $700 in training support in your first year to pursue your CFSW credential.

If you've already taken coursework in financial therapy, or you're simply drawn to this work and ready to grow into it, we want to hear from you.

WHO WE SERVE

Honest Hour provides virtual therapy for adults across New York and New Jersey who are ready to do the deeper work — emotionally, relationally, and financially.

Clients are often:

  • First-generation professionals navigating money guilt, burnout, or identity conflict

  • BIPOC individuals unlearning scarcity mindsets while building wealth and stability

  • High-achieving caregivers and helpers who carry financial stress alongside emotional weight

  • Millennials and Gen Xers managing anxiety, career transitions, and complicated money narratives

  • Adults who want honest, culturally grounded support that connects their emotional lives to their financial ones

We practice therapy that is practical, compassionate, and real — helping clients heal emotional wounds, rewrite money stories, and build lives that actually feel good to live.

WHAT MAKES THIS TRACK DIFFERENT

  • Direct mentorship from a Certified Financial Social Worker with years of clinical experience at the intersection of mental health and money

  • Up to $700 in financial therapy training support in year 1 — enough to cover the full cost of CFSW certification

  • $100 annual CEU stipend in subsequent years

  • A growing pipeline of financially-focused referrals as the specialization develops

  • A practice that already centers money as a clinical theme — you won't be building from scratch

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a full caseload of 25 sessions/week (full-time) (adult individuals)

  • Deliver a minimum of 12 evening hours per week (5–9 PM, Monday–Friday)

  • Document session notes in SimplePractice within your practice's required turnaround window

  • Participate in structured group supervision toward LMSW licensure

  • Integrate financial wellness themes into general caseload while building specialization under CFSW mentorship

  • Engage in ongoing professional development (CEU stipend, financial therapy training)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $40/hr clinical rate

  • $20/hr administrative rate (team meetings, community engagement, documentation support)

  • Additional compensation for dual NY/NJ licensure

  • Up to $700 financial therapy training stipend in year 1 (CFSW certification)

  • $100 annual CEU stipend after year 1

  • Supervision included — individual and group, with financial therapy mentorship

  • Full administrative support: billing, scheduling, and claims management

  • Flexible weekday scheduling with structure and autonomy

  • Collaborative, values-driven team environment

SCHEDULE: This is a full-time, weekday role. Clinicians build their own schedules with flexibility, with consistent availability required, including a minimum of 12 evening hours (5–9 PM, Monday–Friday). Full-time clinicians maintain 25 sessions/week.

Compensation:

$40 - $60 hourly
