Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and cultivate strong therapeutic relationships with clients, fostering trust and safety in the therapeutic environment.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to accurately diagnose mental health conditions in alignment with established diagnostic criteria.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on each client's unique needs, strengths, and circumstances.
• Facilitate therapy sessions for individuals and couples, adapting modalities to suit the therapeutic goals set collaboratively with clients.
• Regularly evaluate client progress and modify treatment approaches as required, ensuring continuity of care and client engagement.
• Document all clinical interactions and treatment plans meticulously in line with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of mental health practices and resources, including referral networks for additional support when needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Heart Mind Soul Therapy, you will serve a broad spectrum of clients including adolescents, adults, couples, and families. The therapeutic focus ranges from relationship challenges, grief and loss, and anxiety disorders, to more complex issues such as trauma and co-occurring disorders. Your empathetic approach will significantly influence clients' abilities to build resilience, cope with stress, and enhance interpersonal relationships.

Qualifications

• Current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia.
• Master's or doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields.
• Proven therapeutic skills with a strong capacity to engage and motivate clients in their treatment journey.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, ensuring clarity and understanding in all interactions.
• Ability to work independently while remaining a proactive member of a collaborative team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in addiction counseling or specialized training in substance abuse treatment.

Compensation and Benefits
