We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Clinical Mental Health Therapist to join our dedicated team at Health Comfort Youth and Family Health Services. This full-time position, primarily conducted in a remote setting, focuses on delivering exceptional mental health support to children, adolescents, and their families. You will specialize in mood disorders, providing therapeutic services that empower our clients to improve their mental health and emotional well-being.

Health Comfort Youth and Family Health Services is a community-oriented health clinic located in Utica, New York. This remote position offers flexibility while ensuring that you remain connected with a supportive team of professionals. Our clinic operates during standard business hours, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend coverage required on a rotational basis. The remote work environment is facilitated by advanced telehealth tools, which allow for secure, effective communication with clients.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the severity and nuances of mood disorders such as depression and anxiety in clients.
• Collaborate with clients to create individualized treatment plans that set specific, achievable goals based on their unique situations and preferences.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address clients' concerns.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families, helping them understand mood disorders and available treatment options.
• Engage in continuous monitoring of clients' progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on their evolving needs.
• Work closely with psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for clients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest research and practices related to mood disorders, enhancing the effectiveness of the interventions provided.
• Create and maintain accurate, confidential records of client sessions and treatment plans in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to further cultivate your clinical skills.
• Act as an advocate for clients, pushing back against the stigma associated with mental health issues and promoting awareness and support for mental wellness.

Our primary focus is on working with young people—children, adolescents, and their families—who are navigating mood disorders including, but not limited to, depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related issues. We strive to create a safe and inclusive environment where clients feel empowered to share their experiences and work collaboratively towards their mental health goals.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker - R Privilege (LCSW-R), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist in the state of New York.
• Demonstrable knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities for mood disorders.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse population.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate client records.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience specializing in the treatment of mood disorders.
• Proven success in achieving positive client outcomes through evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Familiarity with psychopharmacology and the ability to collaborate with prescribing psychiatrists.

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, plus eligibility for a sign-on bonus.
