Remote Web Optimization information

What is remote web optimization?

Remote web optimization is the process of improving a website’s speed, performance, and user experience from an off-site location. Specialists in this role analyze website data, identify technical issues, and implement strategies such as image compression, code minification, and content delivery network (CDN) integration. Their goal is to ensure websites load quickly and function smoothly for users worldwide, all while working remotely using various online tools and platforms.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote web optimization specialist?

To thrive as a Remote Web Optimization Specialist, you need expertise in web analytics, SEO, A/B testing, and a strong understanding of website usability, often supported by a degree in marketing, computer science, or a related field. Proficiency with tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, Hotjar, and content management systems (CMS) is typically required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help you collaborate with remote teams and articulate optimization strategies. These skills ensure websites perform efficiently, attract traffic, and ultimately drive results for business objectives in a remote setting.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in remote web optimization roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in remote web optimization often face challenges such as coordinating with cross-functional teams in different time zones, maintaining clear communication, and staying updated with rapidly evolving web technologies. To address these issues, it's important to use collaborative tools like project management platforms and regular virtual check-ins. Additionally, proactively seeking feedback, investing time in continuous learning, and setting clear goals with measurable KPIs can help ensure alignment and success in a remote environment.

  • Roadmap & Prioritization: Coordinate across multiple departments to understand needs and opportunities. Develop and manage a rolling, prioritized testing roadmap that is aligned with overarching business and user experience goals.
  • KPI Tracking & Reporting: Ongoing tracking of key performance metrics. Assess experiment effectiveness and provide clear, actionable reporting on test results. Provide regular updates to leadership on the performance of experimentation programs, offering insights to inform product and business strategy
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Demonstrated ability to identify areas for improvement within product workflows. Leveraging data and insights to drive measurable enhancements in performance, usability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Mentorship & Team Development: Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous learning with the end user in mind. Help shape the organization's experimentation practices and evangelize data-driven decision-making across teams.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in product management or experimentation roles, with a strong focus on A/B testing, multivariate experiments, and direct to consumer digital experiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Proven track record of identifying growth opportunities, driving measurable improvements in conversion rates, user engagement, and business metrics through rigorous testing and optimization strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to move initiatives forward quickly in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Experience with traffic acquisition through multiple digital marketing channels (e.g., paid search, display ads, SEO, social) and media buying strategies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders using data and experiment results.
  • Strong understanding of customer experience principles, the ability to recognize phenomenal design and design experiments with user-centric focus.
  • Experience with experimentation tools (e.g., Optimizely, VWO, Adobe Target), web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), and BI tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI) all a plus.
  • Familiarity with experimentation methodologies (e.g., Bayesian statistics, multi-arm bandit testing).
  • Advanced data analysis skills with the ability to draw actionable insights from complex datasets and provide clear recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in agile product development environments.
  • Experience working in financial services, lead generation, or a similar industry is preferred, but not required.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

LendingTree is the nation's largest online lending marketplace. That means we connect customers with multiple lenders, so they find the best deals on loans, credit cards, savings accounts and insurance. Our goal is to help people save money, and we believe the best way to do that is by giving them a way to shop for loans and compare lenders, so they make their best financial choices.

Our founder, Doug Lebda, founded the company in 1996 after a frustrating house-hunting experience. In those days, we mostly helped people find good mortgage deals. Now, we help consumers find their best in personal loans, auto loans, business loans, student loans, credit cards, savings accounts, home equity loans and more.

The base pay range for this position in Seattle/New York/Colorado/California is $120,000-$160,000 however, base pay offered may vary depending on internal factors, job-related knowledge, and experience.
