Job Title: QA Automation Engineer
Location: 100% Remote, United States
Industry: FinTech
Rate: Up to $62.50/hr ; 90-Day Contract-to-Hire
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with expertise in Java and Selenium to join our growing QA Engineering team. The ideal candidate will embody an “automation first” mindset, ensuring high-quality, reliable releases. You will be responsible for automating the testing of our responsive web applications, contributing to our goal of automating sprint +1 stories, and supporting our vision of continuous delivery.
 
 
Responsibilities
  • Automation First: Design and implement automation test strategies with a focus on automating new features in the sprint following their development (sprint +1).
  • Test Development: Build and maintain robust, scalable automated test frameworks primarily using Java and Selenium for responsive web applications.
  • Web Portal Testing: Develop and execute automated test suites for multiple client-facing web portals with a strong emphasis on cross-browser and responsive testing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and UX designers to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices in test automation, code quality, and CI/CD integration.

Requirements
  • 3+ years experience as an SDET or QA Automation Engineer.
  • Strong programming skills in Java for writing test automation code.
  • Expertise with Selenium WebDriver for browser-based automation.
  • Experience testing responsive web applications and understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Automation Mindset: Passion for automating everything and reducing manual testing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and source control (Git).
Nice to Have
  • Experience with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, JBehave).
  • Knowledge of cloud-based cross-browser testing tools (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
