How does a Remote Web Designer typically collaborate with clients and team members across different time zones?

As a Remote Web Designer, you'll often work with clients and colleagues who are located in various regions, making clear communication essential. Most teams rely on project management tools (like Trello or Asana), design platforms (such as Figma or Adobe XD), and regular video meetings to stay aligned. Flexibility in scheduling and proactive updates help ensure everyone is on the same page, regardless of time differences. Establishing clear deadlines and using asynchronous communication methods are key strategies for effective collaboration in remote environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Web Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Web Designer, you need strong expertise in UI/UX design principles, proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and a relevant degree or portfolio demonstrating your abilities. Excellent communication, time management, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for collaborating with remote teams and meeting project deadlines. These skills ensure the delivery of visually appealing, user-friendly websites while maintaining productivity and effective teamwork in a remote work environment.

What does a remote web designer do?

A remote web designer creates and designs websites while working from a location outside of a traditional office, such as from home or another remote setting. They use tools like graphic design software and website builders to craft visually appealing and user-friendly web pages. Their responsibilities often include collaborating with clients or teams online, ensuring websites are responsive across devices, and updating site content or layout as needed. Communication and time management skills are crucial since all tasks and meetings are conducted virtually.

Job description

Job Title: Senior MarTech Engineer / Web AI Systems Builder (Contractor)

Location: 100% Remote (Must align with North American Time Zones: EST, CST, or PST)

Job Summary

We are seeking an autonomous, entrepreneurial Senior MarTech Engineer / AI Web Builder for a dedicated contract engagement to accelerate our B2B SaaS pipeline and scale our AI brand presence across all devices.

In this contract role, you will take immediate ownership of our high-performance marketing web properties, with a heavy emphasis on mobile-first optimization, and engineer our web-to-lead pipelines.

You will combine a high-speed frontend stack (Astro and Contentful) with cloud-hosted AI orchestration (AWS Bedrock) to optimize our marketing content for LLM search engines (like Perplexity, OpenAI Search, and Gemini).

Critically, you will build and manage a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to securely connect our technical documentation directly to external AI agents.

This role requires a disciplined remote contractor who designs flawlessly for mobile screens, delivers exceptional mobile performance, and stays fully synchronized during North American core business hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Mobile-First Web Builds: Rapidly build, optimize, and maintain responsive marketing sites, product feature matrices, and interactive tools using Astro's island architecture and Contentful headless CMS, prioritizing mobile layouts and fluid viewport adaptation.

  • Optimize Mobile Performance & UX: Ensure perfect mobile Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) by minimizing JavaScript payloads on mobile devices, optimizing mobile asset loading, and designing touch-friendly, intuitive UI controls for AI conversational elements.

  • Drive B2B AI Visibility (LLMO/GEO): Structure and optimize site metadata, technical schemas, and product content to maximize our inclusion in mobile enterprise AI tool evaluations and conversational LLM queries.

  • Deploy MCP Server Architecture: Design and deploy an operational Model Context Protocol (MCP) server ecosystem to securely expose our API schemas and product documentation directly to developer-facing AI agents (e.g., Cursor, Claude Desktop).

  • Integrate Cloud AI Features: Program and implement intelligent user experiences (such as dynamic, mobile-optimized ROI calculators and chat modules) using the AWS ecosystem (Lambda, Bedrock, OpenSearch).

  • Maintain Cross-Device Enterprise Testing: Author and run robust end-to-end integration test suites with Playwright, mimicking both mobile and desktop viewports to prevent regressions in mobile signup flows, multi-step pricing layouts, and third-party webhooks.

  • Optimize Revenue Operations (RevOps): Connect mobile and web intent data directly to our revenue engine, building smooth, automated API connections into HubSpot CRM and triggering immediate sales engagement sequences via Outreach.

Contractor Requirements

  • Availability: Must be fully available to work during North American business hours (overlapping at least 6 hours daily with EST/CST/PST teams) and join standups/Slack channels in real-time.

  • MarTech & Mobile Web Expertise: 4+ years of professional full-stack experience building scalable sites using Astro and advanced content modeling within Contentful, with a proven portfolio showcasing high-performance mobile web designs.

  • Model Context Protocol (MCP): Direct, hands-on experience constructing or deploying MCP servers to facilitate context-sharing between web architectures and AI applications.

  • AWS Cloud Engineering: Production experience managing serverless components on AWS (Lambda, Gateway, S3, IAM) for full-stack frontend-to-AI orchestration.

  • Cross-Device Testing Automation: Deep familiarity writing and executing integration tests with Playwright, specifically targeting mobile viewport emulation and touch interaction behaviors across complex, dynamic checkout or pricing pages.

  • Remote Contractor Setup: Must have a dedicated home office setup, reliable high-speed internet, and a proven history of shipping code independently without micro-management.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Strong production knowledge of the HubSpot API (Custom Objects, lifecycle staging, and marketing attribution models).

  • Experience with the Outreach API/Webhooks to auto-enroll hot leads based on high-intent AI web behaviors.
