Web Content Publisher

Reports to: Content Manager

Role Summary

The Web Content Publisher's primary responsibility is turning finished, approved content into polished, published, SEO-ready pages in WordPress, including page layout and design, image selection, and infographic creation, with an eye toward how every page looks and functions on mobile, not just desktop. This role reports to the Content Manager and works within the Content department.
Once a page is published, the Publisher moves the Trello card into the SEO list so the SEO team can complete schema markup, internal linking, and Google indexing submission promptly. When publishing volume doesn't fill the week, or during major site launches and large-scale projects, the Publisher also supports the web development team and/or SEO team with WordPress tasks, page fixes, and general site improvements.

Core Responsibilities

Publishing & Content (Primary)

•       Stage and publish new client pages in WordPress on schedule, following the content calendar managed by the Content Manager and Content Coordinator.
•       Build and update revised pages for existing clients, integrating new content, refreshed copy, and improved formatting.
•       Design clean, professional page layouts appropriate for healthcare and behavioral health audiences, with attention to how each page displays on mobile as well as desktop.
•       Select and place images that support SEO best practices (relevance, alt text, file size/optimization, licensing).
•       Create infographics and other visual assets to support blog posts, service pages, and resource content.
•       Set parent page and permalink correctly for each page, using the values provided in the SEO team's content brief.
•       Maintain consistent formatting, accessibility, and site structure standards across all client sites.

SEO Handoff

•       Publish each page on schedule, then move its Trello card into the SEO list promptly so the SEO team can begin their work with minimal delay.
•       Confirm parent page and permalink match what's specified in the content brief before publishing.
•       Flag any content or formatting issues to the Content Manager before publishing.
•       Note: schema markup, internal linking, and Google indexing submission are owned by the SEO team once a page is published.

Web Development & Site Support (Secondary)

•       Support the web development team with WordPress tasks during major site launches or other all-hands projects.
•       Improve the look and layout of existing pages, fixing formatting, spacing, and display issues in WordPress.
•       Take on general WordPress upkeep and troubleshooting as needed when publishing volume allows.

Communication & Collaboration

•       Communicate proactively with the Content Manager, Content Coordinator, SEO team, and web development team as needed.
•       Flag bottlenecks or delays within 24 hours.

Performance Standards & KPIs

These KPIs measure what the Publisher directly controls, not content quality or SEO strategy decisions, which remain with the Content Manager and SEO team respectively.

Publishing & Operations

•       100% of approved, ready-to-publish pages go live on or before their scheduled date.
•       Zero stalled pages in the publishing queue for more than 2 business days without a documented reason.
•       100% of published pages have their Trello card moved into the SEO list within 1 business day of going live.
•       100% of published pages meet formatting, image, and accessibility standards on first publish.

Mobile & Design Quality

•       100% of published pages reviewed and confirmed mobile-friendly (layout, images, and readability) before moving to the SEO list.

Web Support & Site Quality

•       Responsive and available during major launches or all-hands site projects.
•       Existing-page fixes and improvements completed within agreed timeframes.

Communication & Professionalism

•       Bottlenecks or delays flagged within 24 hours.
•       Consistent and clear communication with Content, SEO and Web Dev teams where applicable.
•       Demonstrates mastery of WordPress workflow and publishing standards by Day 60.

This is a remote position.
