About the Role

Autonomous Vehicles (AV) are a core pillar of Uber's long-term strategy and are scaling rapidly across the US through a growing portfolio of partnerships.

As the business grows, strong frontline operations are critical to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality AV experiences at scale. We're looking for a versatile operations leader with deep experience leading frontline teams in complex, high-performance environments.

This role will lead and develop AV frontline teams in the US, with a strong focus on people leadership, operational performance, and execution. The ideal candidate combines hands-on frontline leadership with the ability to strengthen processes, leverage technology, and build the capabilities needed to support AV at scale.

What You'll DoFrontline Operations & Leadership
  • Lead AV frontline teams and their leaders, setting a high bar for performance, accountability, and execution.
  • Drive performance across quality, SLAs, accuracy, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Build strong frontline leadership, coaching, performance management, and team capabilities.
  • Strengthen day-to-day operating rhythms and ensure teams are equipped to perform effectively in complex environments.
  • Ensure frontline readiness for new AV launches, partnerships, and geographic expansion.
Technology & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with program, product, and technology teams to improve frontline tooling, workflows, and decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and automate frontline work, improving speed, quality, and scalability.
  • Surface frontline insights and translate them into actionable product and operational improvements.
Scale & Partnership
  • Build scalable frontline processes, standards, and capabilities to support AV growth.
  • Partner across program, product, technology, safety, and other teams to resolve operational challenges and drive shared outcomes.
  • Develop a strong leadership bench and frontline culture focused on quality, sound judgment, and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years in project/program management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of operations experience, with significant experience leading frontline operations and frontline leaders.
  • Experience in AV, mobility, robotics, or similarly complex operational environments.
  • Experience leading real-time, high-stakes, or safety-sensitive frontline operations.
  • Experience building scalable frontline operating models and capabilities.
  • Experience leveraging AI or automation to improve frontline operations.
  • Experience leading large and/or distributed teams, including managers of managers.
  • Proven track record of driving frontline performance across quality, SLAs, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Experience building, stabilising, or scaling frontline operations in complex or rapidly growing environments.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, performance management, and organisational development capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology, tooling, and automation to improve frontline operations.
  • Proven operational judgment and ability to influence senior cross-functional stakeholders.

For Phoenix, AZ-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $130,000 per year - USD $144,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
