Job description

The Area Sales Manager-Water Works will promote and communicate the benefits of GF products by demonstrating their value and effectiveness through partnerships with engineering firms, municipalities, water companies and contractors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Create strategic partnerships and maintain relationships with identified engineering firms, municipalities, water companies and contractors.
  • Maintain and continuously improve extensive working knowledge of GF Restraint Fittings and ensure they meet regional requirements
  • Obtain local approvals from identified municipal and water companies by researching their standards and approval requirements and submitting the necessary documentation as required by industry standards.
  • Collaborate with contractors and installers to secure referrals for relevant jobs or projects and collect testimonials to leverage word-of-mouth marketing
  • Create and maintain educational content to provide training and continuous education opportunities to contractors, installers and other industry professionals
  • Attend trade shows and industry events that allow for product demonstrations and/or training sessions on the installation and benefits of the products.
  • Partner with local distributors, wholesalers, and suppliers who cater to the municipal water industry
  • Explore online platforms for wider distribution and use e-commerce as an additional channel to reach remote areas and small contractors.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be a self-starter motivated to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Extensive working knowledge of GF product lines
  • Strong understanding of acceptable industry practices, procedures, and applicable regulations
  • Strong technical/computer skills
  • Must be prompt and dependable

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of sales experience required
  • Working knowledge of municipal water utility industry preferred

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
  • Likely to travel in regions of extreme heat, humidity, and cold
  • Able to lift and carry 60lbs for 50 feet
  • Listening and speaking with customers, by phone and in person
  • Required to work a 40-hour workweek
