Job Description

The Strategic Account Manager leads an industry end-user partnership, focused on the Eco-Industrial segment for Water/Wastewater. You will develop this partnership to achieve sustained sales and market share growth for assigned products, contract agreements, and, solutions and services. You will develop and implement sales strategies and plans to achieve annual goals. The Strategic Account Manager manages the day-to-day sales activities within the assigned account, including accountability for executing commercial programs, while working with extended resources. You will be responsible for a customer with multiple sites, ranging in account size, and for managing through extended sales resources to drive sustainable growth.

What You'll do:

  • Indirectly lead a team of resources and executes a disciplined sales process to ensure opportunities exist to achieve or exceed annual sales goals.
  • Develop strategies and plans toward long-term customer relationships/advocacy and use resources to the highest priorities to create demand.
  • Articulate the annual value stream of the strategic partnership between the customer and Rockwell Automation ecosystem; to both the customer and Rockwell leadership.
  • Communicate digital transformation outcomes as it applies to renewable energy, and drive innovation within the strategic account.
  • Develop and maintain key executive relationships for long-term business success.
  • Coordinate cross-territory/region/country pursuits with appropriate sales teams and partners for account sites.
  • Analyze industry macro-trends and provide ongoing market intelligence, monthly sales activity reports, forecasting, and ad-hoc feedback.
  • Document the competitive landscape by geography, customer type and segment with a pursuit strategy to develop and defend our position.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with the Sales management team and corporate management regarding dynamics, performance, and sales opportunities.
  • Appropriately apply policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but are not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, and government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality, and environmental).
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required - we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
  • Ability to travel regionally 50% of time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Typically requires 8+ years of experience in account management with emphasis in Water/Wastewater municipalities.
  • Software Industry Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering or Business discipline. Additional business-related degree/experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in sales, industrial distribution, systems integration or an engineering firm.
  • Previous experience managing a sales team or leading distributors.
  • Experience working with all levels of large project customers including executives, management, and engineers.

For this role, the Total Target Compensation is from $185,600.00 - 278,400.00 USD Annual, of which 60% is base salary and 40% is variable. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.

This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation.
