Job description

We're seeking a skilled and proactive Site Reliability Engineer to join our team, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our technological resources as we deliver cutting-edge AI solutions to the government. This is a fully remote position for candidates in the continental U.S., with work hours aligned to Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone to support our distributed team and partners effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud infrastructure and a proven ability to support complex IT systems, with a particular focus on Google Cloud Platform.
Responsibilities
  • Google Cloud Integration and Deployment: Design, implement, and manage our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This includes setting up and configuring various GCP services, such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and Kubernetes Engine, to support our development and operational needs. You'll ensure that our infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and cost-effective.
  • Security Management: Lead the development and implementation of security protocols and best practices across our cloud infrastructure. This includes managing identity and access management (IAM), network security, and data encryption to ensure compliance with government regulations and to protect sensitive information. You will be responsible for security audits and continuous monitoring to proactively identify and address vulnerabilities.
  • Google Cloud Certification: Maintain and advance your expertise by pursuing and maintaining Google Cloud Professional certifications. These certifications are highly valued and demonstrate a deep understanding of GCP services and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in a similar infrastructure engineering role.
  • Deep expertise with at least one major cloud platform: GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Proven experience implementing, achieving, and documenting security controls within standard federal frameworks, specifically NIST (800-53/800-171) and DoD Cloud SRG
  • Hands-on experience navigating the Authority to Operate (ATO) process, including the creation of System Security Plans (SSPs) and evidence artifacts required to maintain compliance within a U.S. government environment
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desired
  • Proven experience in security management and a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles.
  • A Google Cloud Professional certification, such as Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or Professional Cloud Network Engineer is highly desired (or the willingness to obtain one after hire).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
