Job Summary

As a Systems Developer Coop supporting the Pension Application Development (PAD) team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of front-end and back-end builds across our applications.

This role is centered on implementing technical solutions for user experiences and supporting services, with a strong focus on application builds, CI/CD pipelines, deployment support, environment validation, and post-deployment testing. You will work with experienced developers and technical leads to build and deliver reliable front-end and back-end capabilities.

You will gain hands-on experience with enterprise development practices, React front-end development, C#/.NET back-end development, CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and production-ready validation activities in a real-world delivery environment.

What you will do:

  • Assist with implementing front-end and back-end features for PAD applications

  • Support the team in updating application configurations, package dependencies, and deployment assets required for builds

  • Contribute to build and release pipeline activities, including reviewing pipeline steps, supporting execution, and helping troubleshoot failures

  • Assist with application deployments across environments and help validate that front-end and back-end builds are deployed successfully

  • Work with developers and technical leads to understand how front-end and back-end changes affect application behaviour, integrations, infrastructure, and deployment processes

  • Help analyze build, deployment, and runtime issues affecting front-end and back-end components

  • Support environment readiness activities, including configuration checks, deployment coordination, and technical validation after release

  • Assist in maintaining and improving automation used in build, deployment, and verification processes

  • Use Azure DevOps to track tasks, defects, build progress, and delivery work

  • Help automate smoke, regression, and integration testing for front-end and back-end changes

  • Review technical and business requirements to help identify affected components and required validation scenarios

  • Document implementation steps, deployment notes, test results, and build outcomes

  • Participate in Agile team ceremonies such as Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives

  • Contribute ideas to improve development practices, build reliability, deployment reliability, and technical documentation

What you will bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a University or College coop program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Interested in front-end and back-end software development, DevOps, or release engineering

  • Familiar with at least one programming language such as C#, Java, JavaScript, or a similar language

  • Familiarity with React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript development is an asset

  • Interested in learning how enterprise front-end and back-end applications are built, deployed, and maintained

  • Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts, build processes, or deployment pipelines is an asset

  • Familiarity with source control and development tools such as Git, Visual Studio, or Azure DevOps is an asset

  • Exposure to package or dependency management concepts is a plus

  • Familiarity with SQL or data validation concepts is helpful

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work through technical issues methodically

  • Comfortable working collaboratively in an Agile team environment

  • Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn from experienced team members
