Job description

Job Summary
This role serves as a relational and strategic ambassador of Venture, building meaningful partnerships with
individuals, churches, and businesses who are passionate about bringing the hope of Jesus to tough places
around the world. This role is responsible for cultivating authentic donor relationships, praying with donors,
inspiring generosity, and helping partners connect their passions and resources to Venture's mission.
This role focuses on cultivating relationships with churches, businesses, and individual donors to grow both
financial and spiritual partnerships. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for storytelling, donor
care, and Gospel-centered generosity.
Primary Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
  • Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals through donor acquisition, cultivation, and retention.
  • Conduct 25-30 relational meetings per month (in-person or virtual) with prospective and current partners.
  • Retain 80%+ of existing major donors and 50%+ of all other partner relationships in the region.
  • Manage a regional donor portfolio of up to 300 partners, including 5+ major donors (>$10,000 annually).
  • Develop, grow, and steward Business for Good (BFG) partnerships and assist in church relationships.
  • Coordinate at least one local partner event or gathering annually to foster engagement.
  • Identify and develop potential legacy, matching, and planned giving opportunities.
  • Actively pray with and for donors, church partners, and community members, treating intercession as a core expression of the role-not merely a formality. This includes opening and closing meetings in prayer, following up on shared prayer requests, and cultivating a posture of dependence on God throughout all fundraising and relational ministry work.

Secondary Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Director of Operations & Development to design and execute a regional fundraising strategy.
  • Support Venture's annual campaigns, events, and digital fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Communications to strengthen donor storytelling, follow-up, and digital engagement.
  • Provide consistent reporting and donor insights using Venture's CRM (Raiser's Edge).
  • Participate in national Development team calls, training, and bi-annual retreats.
  • Serve as Venture's representative at events, conferences, and church gatherings.
  • Build regional networks that increase awareness and inspire generosity.
  • Host or accompany donors on vision trips or site visits when appropriate.

Requirements
Essential Competencies
Strong relational instincts with the ability to connect authentically with donors, pastors, business leaders, and community influencers.
Gifted storyteller and communicator with a heart for ministry partnership and donor care.
  • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of professional experience in fundraising, donor development, or relationship management preferred.
  • Proven success in meeting fundraising or sales goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong storytelling ability.
  • Familiarity in working with a CRM system.
  • Willingness to travel for donor meetings, regional events, and conferences.
  • Highly organized, entrepreneurial, and able to work independently.

Spiritual & Cultural Alignment
  • Deep and growing faith in Jesus Christ; subscribes to the Apostles' Creed, Lausanne Covenant, and the authority of Scripture.
  • Active member of a local church or disciple-making community.
  • Practices consistent financial generosity (tithing or equivalent giving).

Job Requirements
  • Fully remote position. Must reside within or frequently travel through the Southeastern U.S. region.
  • Occasional evening/weekend hours required for donor events or travel.
