Job Summaryย 

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist will provide remote psychotherapy services to individuals experiencing mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders in the state of Washington. This role focuses on delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, conducting assessments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. The therapist will primarily work with individualsย referredย from an opioid treatment program and must be comfortable utilizing telehealth platforms. This is a remote positionย operatingย during Pacific Time hours.ย 

Duties/Responsibilities:ย 

  • Services to be provided remotely to individuals seeking therapy for mental health disorders and/or co-occurring disorders. Individuals being referred to this service provider will be active patients of an opioid treatment program.ย 
  • Assess and diagnose patients for mental health/ substance use diagnoses using DSM 5 TR and/or ASAM criteria.ย  ย 
  • Prepare individualized treatment plans to address mental health or co-occurring disorders of the patient with the input of the patient, relevant providers and patient's chosen supports. ย 
  • Provides diagnostic, treatment, referral, and crisis intervention services for patients in accordance with standards established by incumbent's professional mental health organization (American Psychological Association, etc.).ย ย 
  • Conducts individual psychotherapy for adults.ย  ย 
  • Coordinates service provision to patients and consults with professional colleagues as needed to promote optimal patient care including appropriate referrals for psychiatric evaluation or medication.ย 
  • Participates in interdisciplinary case conferences with the clinic partner
  • Conducts risk assessments and referrals as appropriate.ย 
  • Maintains all appropriate patient records in the Electronic Medical Record according to documentation policies and guidelines.ย 
  • Participates in committee, departmental, and team meetings as relevant and required.ย 
  • Supervisory: The Licensed Mental Health Therapist may provide clinical supervision to unlicensed therapists, interns, or other mental health professionals as required. This may include reviewing clinical documentation, providing case consultations, ensuring adherence to ethical and professional standards, and offering guidance on treatment approaches.ย

  • Commitment to continuous professional development, staying updated on best practices and emerging research in clinical psychology and telehealth treatment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and meet documentation deadlines.ย 

Education & Experienceย 

  • Master's Degree from an accredited university or institution of higher learning in counseling, clinical social work or psychology that focuses on clinical practice.ย ย 
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted license in the State of Washington: LPC, LMFT, LCSW
  • 3 years of experience in psychotherapy; inclusive of at least one year delivering telehealth services using appropriate remote tools to virtually connect with patients.ย ย ย 

Decision Making Authorityย 

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist will have the authority to make clinical decisionsย regardingย patient diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions. This includes determiningย appropriateย treatmentย modalities, crisis management strategies, and referrals for psychiatric evaluation or medication management.ย 

Contact (Internal/External)ย 

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist will work closely with theย Clinical Director of Behavioral Healthย to ensure the highest standards of care for patients. This includes collaborating on treatment protocols, case consultations, quality assurance measures, and compliance with organizational policies. Additionally, the therapist will engage with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, primary care providers, care coordinators, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care for patients. External contacts may include insurance providers, legal representatives, and community-based mental health organizations.ย 

Physical & Sensory Demandsย 

This position will require extended periods of sitting, typing, and working on a computer screen.ย Close vision isย requiredย for computer work.ย 

Working Environmentย 

This is a remote position, with expected working hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm PT.ย Occasional travel to Indigenous Pact work sites may beย required.ย
