  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities to promote client engagement and progress.
  • Document and monitor clients' progress using electronic health record systems like AVATAR, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical doctors, to create integrated care plans that prioritize clients' multifaceted needs.
  • Provide follow-up care and manage referrals to external specialists or resources as necessary.
  • Work closely with family members and primary caregivers, educating them on mental health strategies to support their loved ones during the recovery process.
  • Identify and mitigate potential barriers to client recovery, focusing on behaviors and environmental factors that may hinder progress.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Mental Harbor, you will engage with a diverse client population ranging from individuals with anxiety and depression to couples dealing with relationship challenges and families seeking support for behavioral issues. Our clientele may also include individuals grappling with addiction or co-occurring disorders. Your expertise will be pivotal in tailoring therapeutic interventions that resonate with the specific needs of each client, ultimately guiding them toward improved mental health and resilience.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Arizona.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrated clinical experience as a mental health counselor, with a focus on therapeutic interventions and client engagement.
Preferred Experience
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for managing client documentation and care.
  • Experience in addressing a range of psychological issues, including LGBTQ+ concerns, substance use disorders, family dynamics, and trauma.
  • Familiarity with best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • A comprehensive understanding of psychopharmacology, particularly the effects of medications prescribed by healthcare specialists.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective therapist-client interactions as well as collaborative care discussions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills underscored by a sympathetic and understanding nature.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, Mental Harbor provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Healthcare benefits covering medical, dental, and vision needs.
