That's Where You Come in as an ESOP Communication Consultant I


The ESOP Communication Consultant I supports employee communication initiatives for clients with Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs). This role assists in the development of presentations, print and digital communication materials, webinars, and custom learning tools, while delivering educational content to client employee groups both on-site and virtually.


The Consultant I must be able to manage project components independently, collaborate effectively with internal teams, and communicate clearly with diverse audiences. This position also requires strong public speaking skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering employee ownership culture.

Essential Functions


Client Communication & Education

Deliver presentations to employee groups on-site or virtually, supporting client ESOP education initiatives.

Assist with the creation and delivery of custom learning activities, employee ownership workshops, and webinars.


Content Creation & Materials Development

Develop custom communication tools, including presentations, handouts, learning games, and digital assets tailored to client needs.

Contribute content and materials to ESOP Blue Ribbon, the firm's online subscription service.


Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate closely with the ESOP Communication Services team to execute communication plans and meet departmental goals.

Partner with marketing, IT, and other internal teams as needed to ensure consistent messaging and high-quality deliverables.


Promotion & Industry Engagement

Represent the firm by promoting ESOP communication services at conferences, in articles, webinars, and discussions with prospective clients.


Other Duties

Contribute to developing and improving department processes that strengthen accuracy, client service, efficiency, and documentation standards.

Support clients with Employee Ownership Month celebrations, annual meetings, and employee engagement activities.

Work with client employee committees to strengthen in-house communication capabilities.

Perform additional duties as assigned.


Requirements

Skills/Abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse employee audiences.

1-3 years of experience delivering presentations, trainings, or educational content to groups.

1-3 years of experience developing communication materials, presentations, or learning tools.

Public speaking and facilitation experience, including virtual delivery via Teams/Zoom.

Ability to train others on custom communication content and materials.

Ability to build strong relationships within the ESOP and employee ownership community.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher).

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Familiarity with digital or print marketing preferred.

Video editing experience preferred.

Knowledge of ESOPs or qualified benefit plans preferred.

Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for employee ownership.

Must be able to provide and maintain a distraction-free work environment, a professional workspace, and reliable high-speed internet connection.ย 


Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Communications, HR, Marketing, or similar) or equivalent experience.

1-3 years of professional experience in communications, training, public speaking, employee engagement, or related roles.

Experience supporting or delivering training, workshops, or presentations required.

Experience with digital and/or print marketing preferred.

Experience using video editing tools/software preferred.

Prior exposure to ESOPs, retirement plans, or other qualified benefit plans preferred.


Travel

Travel to client locations will be required, including occasional overnight stays.

Travel may involve presentations, training sessions, and other ESOP-related activities.

Blue Ridge is committed to equal pay and pay transparency.


The annual base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $110,000. This range represents the anticipated pay for this role across multiple U.S. labor markets and is intended as a general guideline.


Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the role, relevant experience, work location, education and training, key skills, internal equity, external market data, and current business considerations.
