Job description


The National Desk is seeking a social media engagement superstar to promote content across all of Sinclair Broadcast Group's network of stations, including our national news brands. The ideal candidate needs to be comfortable with posting on newer social platforms and adapting to all the platforms on the horizon. Our team of journalists works hard to write and share stories from around the country and we're looking for a strong social voice to complement the strong news brand.
Qualifications:
  • Deep YouTube, Instagram, Reels, TikTok, Facebook & Twitter publishing experience
  • Experience in front of the camera, and a strong personality to match
  • Must be an excellent writer
  • Breaking news expertise
  • Understand how video moves throughout the internet
  • Knowledge of LIVE video feeds
  • Expertise at 'shareable' content
  • CMS knowledge

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to work in a flexible "LIVE breaking news" environment
  • AP Style
  • Video editing (Premiere, Premiere Rush, Photoshop, After Effects, etc), and other creative software
  • 3-5 years of newsroom experience
  • 2-3 years of working with newsroom social media accounts
  • Ability to adapt to an everchanging news and multi-platform landscape

Preferred candidates will be:
  • A self-starter capable of working independently and exercising sound judgment
  • Knowledge of all current social trends and the ability to adapt
  • A passion for teamwork and customer service
  • Able to work across all levels of the group and work in tandem with corporate social media counterparts so our station initiatives are in line with Sinclair's expectations
  • A leader who can teach others about social media and encourage non-social users to embrace engagement techniques that work

The base salary compensation range for this role is $61,000 to $76,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life
and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
