They use video editing software to cut, arrange, and enhance video content for various purposes, such as social media, marketing, film, or television. Remote Video Editors collaborate with clients and teams virtually, sharing files and feedback online. This role requires strong technical skills, creativity, and the ability to manage projects independently.

What does a remote video editor do?

Remote video editors, also called home-based editors or freelance editors, cut and realign multiple film shots into a cohesive story. While in-house editors work in the office, remote video editors perform their job duties from home or another location outside of the office. They use a variety of computer software and equipment to alter and edit images digitally. Remote video editors are in charge of taking raw film footage, pulling out the best shots that have the best sound and imagery, and putting it back together as seamlessly as possible. Other businesses outside of the film industry also use remote video editors to create promotional videos, educational and training videos, and presentations for clients.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote video editor?

To thrive as a Remote Video Editor, you need expertise in video editing techniques, storytelling, and a solid understanding of visual aesthetics, often supported by experience or a degree in film, media, or a related field. Mastery of editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve is essential, and certifications in these tools can be advantageous. Strong time management, communication, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for meeting deadlines and collaborating remotely with clients or teams. These skills and qualities ensure efficient production of high-quality content that meets client expectations in a remote work environment.

How do remote video editors typically collaborate with producers and other team members to ensure project goals are met?

Remote video editors often use cloud-based platforms and communication tools to collaborate effectively with producers, directors, and other creative team members. Regular video calls, shared project management boards, and real-time feedback on drafts help maintain alignment and ensure the final product meets client expectations. Job description

Marketing Manager, Campaigns and Operations, Contract (1099)
Location: Remote, Seattle area preferred, Pacific Time Zone required
Reports to: Head of Marketing Communications
Engagement type: Independent contractor, 1099
Hours: 30 hours per week
Pay: $60 per hour
Contract term: September 14 through the second week of December 2026
About Sapience AI
Sapience AI is the collective intelligence platform for professional communities. The expertise inside an organization already exists. It lives in scattered documents, disconnected systems, and the people who have done the work before. We bring that expertise together into one place so it can be searched, shared, and acted on.
About the Role
We are hiring a Marketing Manager on a fixed-term contract to run the marketing engine behind our fall product launch. This role covers two things at once. You will build the core set of product launch assets, then build three distinct campaigns from that foundation, and you will keep the day-to-day marketing program organized, on schedule, and visible to the team. The scope below reflects where we are today and will grow as our launch program grows.
This role reports to our Head of Marketing Communications and works alongside our website designer, video editor, brand graphic designer, and copywriter, as well as our internal social and PR partners who publish your finished assets.
What You Will Do
  • Build the core set of product launch assets, including copy, messaging, and supporting visuals.
  • Build three distinct campaigns from that asset foundation, each carried through from copy to visuals.
  • Work from approved brand and product foundations to keep every campaign consistent with our voice and visual identity.
  • Hand finished launch assets and campaigns to the internal team to build on and deploy across channels.
  • Coordinate with our website designer and video editor where a campaign calls for shared assets or a consistent look.
  • Own the day to day operations of the launch marketing program, including the project tracker, contractor schedules, and deadline coordination across the team.
  • Report regularly on launch program status and campaign progress to the Head of Brand & Marketing.
  • Turn launch assets, campaign work, and reports around on a schedule that supports a December launch.
  • Take on additional campaign and operations work as our launch program expands over the course of the contract.
Who You Are
  • Experience building marketing campaigns in a B2B SaaS or technology environment.
  • A strong writer who can produce clear, human benefits-led copy quickly and at a high standard.
  • Comfortable producing supporting visuals for a campaign, whether through design tools or by directing outside resources.
  • Experience running the operational side of a marketing program, including tracking, scheduling, and status reporting across several contractors or team members.
  • Able to work independently to produce launch assets and campaign materials, handing them to another team to execute, rather than running channel execution yourself.
  • Organized and able to manage launch assets, several campaigns, and a shared program calendar in flight at once against a fixed contract timeline.
  • Available for a 40 hour week for the full term of the contract.
  • Based in the Pacific time zone, Seattle area preferred.
Nice to Have
  • Experience marketing to professional associations, membership organizations, or B2B communities.
  • Familiarity with AI or agent-based products.
  • Experience working alongside a brand or creative team on a shared visual identity.
  • Familiarity with project tracking tools such as Notion and HubSpot.
