The CenterWell Senior Strategy Consultant provides data-based strategic direction to support the broader team and identify and address business issues and opportunities. You will blend strategy development with operating model and execution thoughtfulness - providing business intelligence, strategic planning, and program leadership support for business segments and CenterWell at large. The Senior Strategy Consultant works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
As a CenterWell Senior Strategy Consultant, you will support the central CenterWell Strategy & Operations team and help shape the strategic direction of CenterWell and translating strategy into measurable operating results. You will collaborate with CenterWell leadership and senior leaders across our Primary Care, Home, and Pharmacy businesses. The collaboration will improve delivery of personalized and integrated care that improves experience, quality, and outcomes. Additionally, it will address some of the segments' most important opportunities and challenges.
CenterWell is looking for a team member with prior management consulting and strategic operations experience who can work on high-priority projects across CenterWell. Daily activities will include developing industry and competitor analysis. You will also involve building high-level financial/business models and investment cases and conducting qualitative analysis. Additionally, they will involve summarizing strategic options into executive-level deliverables and recommendations for CenterWell and Humana's senior leaders and Board. You will also design operating model possible effects, shape implementation plans, and work with business owners to transition strategy into execution with clear accountabilities, milestones, measurements, and value realization.
Responsibilities:
  • You will lead structured problem-solving and hypothesis-driven analyses to support CenterWell-wide priorities, using financial modeling, qualitative insights, and industry research to inform clear, applicable recommendations.
  • You will summarize complex information into compelling, executive-ready presentations and strategic deliverables that frame issues, surface insights, clarify tradeoffs, and guide decision-making for senior leadership and the Board.
  • You will support operational projects by framing problems, evaluating value and feasibility, translating strategy into implementation considerations, and identifying the possible effects for processes, roles, and governance.
  • You will contribute to operating model design by assessing decision rights, governance structures, and process/role changes, and partnering with leaders across CenterWell businesses to support thoughtful execution planning.
  • You will provide structured support for priority workstreams including developing workplans, coordinating interdependencies, tracking milestones, and surfacing risks/insights to ensure aligned, high-quality, on-time execution.
  • You will facilitate cross-functional engagement through working sessions, synthesis discussions, and partner understanding activities that promote strategy development and promote coordinated execution across Primary Care, Home, and Pharmacy.
  • You will develop business case components and value analyses, supporting metrics development and tracking, and preparing concise updates for senior leadership that highlight progress, risks, and strategic possible effects.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with a leading management consulting firm.
  • 4+ years in a strategic or strategic operations role requiring core consulting skills, with evidence of increasing responsibility.
  • 3+ years of experience with competitive analysis, strategy roadmaps, strategic investment prioritization, operating model design).
  • 3+ years of experience in financial modeling, interpreting complex operational and financial data, and developing business cases.
  • 3+ years of experience with executive-level presentations and deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Business Administration or related Master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Prior healthcare industry experience within healthcare services or care delivery organizations.
  • Experience working in a matrixed, multi-business-unit environment.
  • Commitment to improving patient experience and outcomes.

Additional Information:
  • This is a remote role, with a preference for candidates located in the Washington, DC metro area.
  • This role may also require less than 20% travel.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$94,900 - $130,500 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
