The journey to growth begins with doing something different, and that journey starts with the talented people who make Nymbus successful. Thank you for considering Nymbus as the catalyst for the next chapter of your career.

Working hours primarily align with the Eastern Time Zone; candidates located in the Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Nymbus is seeking a Solution Architect – Consultant to serve as the primary technical point person for financial institution clients as they build customer-facing products and their own analytics environments on top of Nymbus Connect data services.

This role sits at the intersection of client consulting, data architecture, and solution delivery. The Solution Architect – Consultant will help clients understand and adopt optimal patterns for using Nymbus Connect's real-time and batch data capabilities, including Kafka event streaming and Parquet-based event file exports, to solve their specific business and analytics needs. This is an ongoing consulting role: the Solution Architect – Consultant will engage with a client for the duration of an engagement and then transition to support the next client engagement as needs arise.

You will work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional partners, including data engineering, product, and client stakeholders, to deliver scalable, well documented, and effective data integration solutions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Solution Architecture & Technical Guidance

  • Serve as clients' dedicated technical point of contact for all things related to Nymbus Connect data services, including Kafka streaming topics and Parquet event file exports.
  • Advise clients on optimal architectural patterns for consuming and integrating Nymbus Connect data into their own customer-facing products and analytics environments.
  • Provide expert guidance on solution design, data integration best practices, and industry standards to both client technical teams and internal Nymbus stakeholders.

Data Investigation & Support

  • Research and resolve data anomalies and client questions related to Nymbus Connect data feeds, working cross-functionally with data engineering to identify root causes.
  • Assist clients with data mapping between Nymbus Connect sources and their target systems and data models.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on solutions client teams are developing, ensuring alignment with recommended patterns and long-term maintainability.

Stakeholder Engagement & Translation

  • Partner with client engineering and analytics teams to understand their business and technical requirements and translate them into actionable integration approaches.
  • Communicate technical concepts, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and working sessions with clients to define, refine, and troubleshoot integration requirements.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Document data mapping decisions, integration patterns, and architectural recommendations for ongoing reference by both clients and internal Nymbus teams.
  • Stay current on Nymbus Connect capabilities and broader industry trends in event streaming and data platform architecture, applying this knowledge to inform client recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clients' use of Nymbus Connect and proactively surface recommendations before issues arise.

SUCCESS CRITERIA (First 120 Days)

  • Develop a deep working knowledge of Nymbus Connect's Kafka streaming and Parquet event file architecture sufficient to independently advise clients.
  • Establish a trusted, day-to-day working relationship with a client's technical and analytics teams as their primary point of contact.
  • Resolve or drive to resolution an initial set of data anomalies, mapping questions, or integration issues raised by the client.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of experience in technology roles, including significant experience as a senior technical consultant, solution architect, or similar client-facing technical role.
  • Strong background in software development, with hands-on development experience earlier in the career.
  • Proven experience working with event streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka) and file-based data formats (e.g., Parquet) in production environments.
  • Experience with data mapping, data integration, or data pipeline work between disparate systems.
  • Experience working directly with clients or external stakeholders on technical solution delivery.
  • Experience in the financial services or banking industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience evaluating or reviewing third-party or client-built technical solutions.

Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently while driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong documentation discipline.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Critical Competencies

  • Customer Focus: Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of the client; gets first-hand information directly from the client and uses it to improve solutions and recommendations; acts with the client's needs in mind; establishes and maintains effective relationships with client stakeholders and earns their trust.
  • Dealing with Ambiguity: Can effectively cope with evolving requirements and shifting priorities; can decide and act without having the total picture; comfortable investigating data anomalies and open questions without a clearly defined path to the answer.
  • Interpersonal Savvy: Relates well to all kinds of people, both technical and non-technical, inside and outside the organization; builds appropriate rapport and constructive relationships; uses diplomacy and tact when navigating client discussions.
