Overview (Scope of Role)

The Commercial Account Manager, Engineered Surfaces is responsible for developing OEM specifications across Engineered Surface’s materials leading to sustainable commercial sales driving high margin revenue through value-added material solutions at National Key Accounts (OEMs) in target markets and applications, such as Quick Serve Restaurant, Marine, Retail, Fuel & Convenience, Military Facilities, Multi-Family Housing, and Healthcare.

The position reports directly to the National Account Manager - Commercial and has no direct reports and requires coordination of global resources and activities across Trinseo specific to the defined accounts' needs. This position is remote with access to a major airport for travel.

This is a remote position with 30-50% travel to external customer across the United States is to be expected


  • Self-motivated, hunter personality able to independently develop new business and bring on new customers
  • In-depth knowledge of Market Segment Focus and specifiers’ needs, requirements, and concerns, and offer creative solutions to their challenges.
  • Promote Trinseo as a problem solver in Engineered Surfacing products and sustainability
  • Identify and pursue leads to create new business opportunities to establish a robust customer pipeline in the Architecture & Design and Building & Construction fields
  • Sales growth through targeted market segment book of business
  • Develop and maintain Stakeholder relationship management including End-users and Designers who would specify our products
  • Drive profitable revenue through alpha National Key Account projects and leverage customer relationships to accelerate growth
  • Providing accurate and timely sales forecasts and volume/sales results on a monthly basis
  • Accountable for improving variable margin per agreed goals and objectives in conjunction with sales manager and identifying any sources of lost margin for review and action.
  • Complete required administrative duties in thorough and timely manner; Salesforce, Teams monthly reports, demand forecasting, expense reports & project research. Reporting requirements to include weekly highlights, monthly sales and highlights, call reports, competitive intelligence and opportunity pipeline.
  • Maintain awareness of activities at account from other adjacent businesses.
  • Maintain account plans on key customers, report to team and stakeholders specific to sales, share position, competitive intelligence, share trends, key activities and growth opportunities.
  • Manage Distributor & fabricator relationships central to specification fulfillment requirements and necessary for specification “pull-through".

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, or technical field such as Engineering or Chemistry. Master's Degree a plus.
  • 5+ years outside sales or customer facing experience in Building & Construction Sales, Engineered Surfaces, Plastics/Polymers or a related field
  • Experience selling to Quick Serve Restaurant, Marine, Retail, Banking, Hospitality, Fuel & Convenience, Military Facilities, Multi-Family Housing, and Healthcare industries strongly preferred 
  • Project management experience highly preferred
    Proven self-starter with a strong track record in new business development, demonstrating the ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.
  • Experience as a Key Account Manager preferred
  • Prior experience in managing the sales forecast process
  • Knowledge of and ability to use technical sales tools and processes
  • Financially strong with an ability to analyze reports and data sets
  • Experience with a CRM system
  • Strong Business acumen with P/L understanding
  • Strong Excel skills to support decision making
  • Ability to utilize AI LLMs to provide actionable data insights is a plus
  • Bilingual is a plus
