As a remote employee, you will be equipped with the tools necessary to deliver high-quality care from the comfort of your home. This role allows for flexible scheduling, with a standard workweek from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly patients, identifying specific needs and developing tailored care plans.
• Provide both individual and group counseling sessions focused on emotional challenges associated with aging, such as depression, anxiety, and grief.
• Collaborate actively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, ensuring comprehensive support that addresses the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of geriatric patients.
• Educate family members and staff on effective strategies to enhance the emotional well-being and quality of life for our elderly residents.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for patients and families navigating end-of-life issues, helping them process their emotions in a supportive setting.
• Implement cognitive stimulation programs designed to promote mental acuity, encouraging social interaction and engagement among participants.

This role primarily focuses on the geriatric population within our outpatient clinic. You will work closely with elderly clients facing various mental health challenges, including but not limited to coping with loss, managing chronic illnesses, and transitioning through different life stages. Your work will play a vital role in enhancing their quality of life and emotional resilience.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
• Proficiency in evidence-based interventions aimed at promoting mental well-being in elderly individuals.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to establish rapport with seniors and their families.
• Evidence of cultural sensitivity and an empathetic approach tailored to meet the unique backgrounds of our diverse patient population.

• Additional training or certifications in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
• Experience delivering counseling services to elderly individuals facing a variety of mental health challenges.
• Familiarity with legal and ethical standards in the context of geriatric mental health counseling.
• Ability to conduct detailed assessments and create personalized treatment plans based on individual needs and preferences.
