Department: UCHlth Equipment Planning

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)  

Shift: Days 

Pay: 33.82 - 50.73 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:
Performs analysis by strategically sourcing products, researching market intelligence and preparing cost benefit analyses. Fields all new product requests; evaluates and distributes them based on established criteria.

Responsibilities:

Identifies cost savings opportunities, reviews and assesses applicable evidence-based literature to assist in the selection, evaluation, monitoring, analysis and implementation of cost-effective products, devices, and physician preference items.


Facilitates  and monitors an assigned portfolio of contracts for medical supplies and physician preference items or specialized commodities to determine appropriateness for hospital use. Prioritizes, inputs, and develops a project plan with timeline and resources.


Gathers data, leads negotiations with vendor representatives, completes financial analysis, and prepares presentation materials. Performs and reviews financial analyses of product utilization, pricing tiers, compatibility with existing equipment and operational practices, and evaluation of safety issues related to regulatory requirements and product use.


Identifies opportunities to promote positive patient outcomes, cost reductions, and revenue enhancement. Works with local vendor representatives to obtain complete cross-referencing information.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or GED.
    Required Licensure/Certification: None required.
    Minimum Experience: None required. Preferred: Prior experience in purchasing, contract management, or supply chain.
