Sr. Renewables Project Development Team Leader (Sr. Manager to Director level)
Locations: FULLY REMOTE - East Coast / Southeast Region STRONGLY PREFFERED
This an opportunity to join an industry leading renewable energy venture and IPP with strong private equity backing that is focused on the development/execution of dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. They are at the forefront of the industry, have accumulated over 9GW+ of projects in a relatively short period of time, and are currently in an accelerated expansion phase.
The Sr. Renewables Development Manager will de-risk and take next generation renewable energy battery storage projects through the full development lifecycle. These are complex billion dollar portfolios that require an intimate knowledge of the transmission interconnection and permitting process as it relates to the project development process showcased by a proven track record of getting projects to NTP/COD. This role will Manage at least 2 Project Development Managers in the SOUTHEAST REGION of the USA and large cross functional teams across multiple projects. MANAGEMENT LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Sr. Renewables Project Development Leader (Sr. Manager - Director level) - Lead greenfield utility-scale renewable development projects through the creation of development and project de-risking strategies
  • Sr. Renewables Project Development Leader (Sr. Manager - Director level) - Responsible for bringing greenfield development assets from site origination, permitting, interconnection, and revenue contract, through project NTP
  • Sr. Renewables Project Development Leader (Sr. Manager - Director level) - Acts as the frontline commercial negotiator for PPAs, interconnection / ISO, and other related agreements
  • Sr. Renewables Project Development Leader (Sr. Manager - Director level) - Acquires project sites for utility-scale renewable projects then brings them through the diligence and de-risking process
  • Sr. Renewables Project Development Leader (Sr. Manager - Director level) - Works with markets and origination team to identify and quantify opportunities, then owning responsibility for RFP submittal for utility-scale solar renewable projects
  • Sr. Renewables Project Development Leader (Sr. Manager - Director level) - Ensures all projects/deals continue to meet or exceed financial hurdles and manages the financing of each new renewables development deal

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Utility-scale renewable energy, Wind energy, solar PV, energy storage, and/or battery storage experience working with IPPs / Developers / Owners
  • Team Management (direct reports) and Project Management Leadership experience
  • Proven track record of developing tactical renewable project development tactics and portfolio de-risking strategies
  • Experience taking multiple grid-connected utility-scale renewable energy projects from greenfield site origination through to NTP/COD
  • Experience working through the following agreement types: Site lease or purchase agreements, Site Plan and Building Permit approvals, Interconnection agreements, Power purchase or tolling agreements, and MIPA / PSA for project disposition / acquisition
  • Well versed in project siting, permitting, prospecting, and other due diligence initiatives for utility-scale renewables
  • MUST have a breadth of hands-on experience with real estate/land transactions & contracts for projects with Developers / IPPs
  • Solid understanding of the RFP / RFI process as it relates to renewable project development initiatives
  • Any exposure or renewable energy project experience with energy storage, battery storage, or solar + storage is a HUGE PLUS
  • Previous utility-scale renewable energy development experience working in the following roles: Sr. Project Development Manager, Senior Manager of Project Development, Sr. Project Manager (Development), Development Driector, VP of Project Development, Director of Project Development, Sr. Renewables Developer, Lead Project Developer...etc
