Job Title: UI/UX DesignerLocation-Type: RemoteStart Date Is: August 12Duration: 5-Month Contract-to-HireCompensation Range: $35-45/hr W2Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, 401KMust be authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Job Description:Our client is seeking a UI/UX Designer to support the continued expansion of its SaaS product suite. You will own UX improvements for either the Records or Licensing & Tax product, partnering closely with Product Managers and Engineers to identify user pain points, redesign workflows, and deliver intuitive, user-centered experiences. The ideal candidate is a product-focused designer who leverages user research, analytics, and customer feedback to solve real business problems—not someone who simply creates visually appealing interfaces.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Own UX/UI improvements across one of the company's core software products.
  • Analyze product analytics, user research, customer feedback, and support tickets to identify usability issues and workflow bottlenecks.
  • Investigate existing user journeys to determine where users struggle and why.
  • Design improved user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interfaces using Figma.
  • Create entirely new user experiences when existing workflows require redesign.
  • Validate design decisions through usability testing and user feedback.
  • Iterate designs based on testing results and stakeholder input.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams throughout implementation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including product standups and sprint planning.
  • Independently manage Jira tickets and drive design initiatives with minimal oversight.
  • Ensure designs align with usability, accessibility, and product best practices.
  • Support developers during implementation by providing design specifications and clarifications.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of UI/UX or Product Design experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Figma.
  • Experience designing digital products—not marketing websites or landing pages.
  • Experience using product analytics, user research, customer feedback, and usability testing to identify UX problems.
  • Experience owning the full design lifecycle from research and discovery through implementation and iteration.
  • Strong portfolio containing detailed case studies that demonstrate problem-solving, research methodology, design decisions, and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience creating both enhancements to existing products and entirely new user workflows.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and usability best practices.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product Managers and Software Engineers in Agile environments.
  • Experience managing work through Jira.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter capable of owning projects without extensive management oversight.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Records Management software.
  • Experience designing software for business licensing or tax applications.
  • Experience working within government technology (GovTech) products.
  • Experience with accessibility standards and inclusive design.
  • Familiarity with product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, Pendo, or Google Analytics.
