THE ROLE:
As a Sr. UX Designer, you will significantly apply UXย in MTIโ€™s user-centered research, analysis, design, and development process. You will work independently and as part of a team as you lead tasks, support junior engineers, and create highly effective solutions, including digital products, physical products, and work systems.

  • Due to federal contract requirements, applicants must be U.S. persons and eligible for a U/S. security clearance
YOUR DUTIES
  • Conduct user-centered research and usability testing.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, visual styles, interaction design,ย UI components, etc.
  • Apply user-centered design processes to evaluate existingย systems and contribute to new designs.
  • Effectively communicate design processes and findings toย team members and stakeholders.
  • Select, apply, and support team members in using tools andย standards such as the System Usability Scale (SUS), UI styleย guides, etc.
  • Oversee junior personnel in specific tasks, demonstrating an understanding of how various tasks and team member rolesย contribute to overall project success.
  • Independently manage complex tasks and collaborate withย peers to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead and engage with cross-functional teams to gather userย requirements and understand design needs. Lead the analysis of userย interaction data to inform design decisions.
  • Create and maintain design mockups, prototypes, style guides, andย design documentation.
  • Lead design reviews, facilitating the exchange of constructiveย feedback.ย 
  • Foster a collaborative and user-centric approach within the team,ย encouraging knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Advocate for User-Centered Design processes and mentor juniorย researchers.
  • Contribute to proposals and capture efforts.
YOUR SKILLS
  • Must have US DoD Security Clearance
  • A bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant discipline.ย 
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in a UX/HFE environment
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe CC (especiallyย XD), Figma, Axure, Sketch, etc.
  • A commitment to understanding and advocating for theย needs and preferences of end users across a program.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the abilityย to convey complex human factors findings and recommendationsย articulately to a wide range of audiences.
  • Developing leadership and mentorship skills; ability to cultivate aย culture of user-centric design and knowledge sharing.
