What is a remote urology RN?

A Remote Urology RN is a registered nurse who specializes in urological care and provides nursing services remotely, often through telehealth platforms. These nurses assist patients with conditions affecting the urinary tract and male reproductive system by providing education, support, care coordination, and follow-up care online or over the phone. Their responsibilities may include reviewing patient health information, triaging symptoms, coordinating with urologists, and helping manage treatment plans. Remote Urology RNs play a vital role in improving access to specialized care, especially for patients in rural or underserved areas.

As a Remote Urology RN, collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams is primarily achieved through secure digital communications such as video conferencing, electronic health records (EHR), and messaging platforms. You’ll regularly coordinate with urologists to discuss patient care plans, share updates, and escalate urgent issues. Effective communication skills are essential, as you’ll often need to relay patient concerns, clarify orders, and ensure continuity of care despite not being physically present.
