Job description

 Position Responsibilities:

  • Together with the Service Manager – IT Resiliency to determine the technical and operational aspects of all organization-wide disaster recovery plans, processes, and procedures to identify gaps and ensure continuous improvement and mature our DR capabilities
  • Coordinate the development and testing of disaster recovery and resumption plans for the critical processes and systems that are core to continued business operations in the event of a disruption in conjunction with IT, the internal business units, and other relevant internal and external parties
  • Conduct technical risk assessments to identify key disaster recovery related risks, and identify mitigating controls in place, and track controls that need to be implemented
  • Develop and communicate DR testing guidelines, and ensure testing is adequately executed as required by IT Senior Management, and in accordance with policy, and any other applicable guidance, policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Analyze DR test results and develop and communicate any necessary recommendations to key stakeholders, including appropriate remediation plans are created and enacted
  • Ensure all necessary testing documentation is completed, stored, and reviewed for accuracy, and available for review by management, auditors, and regulators
  • Other projects or duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, System Analysis, or a related field and 4 to 6 years of experience with disaster recovery and resilient IT infrastructure solutions, or High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) and 7 to 9 plus years of the above stated experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong working knowledge of business continuity/disaster recovery, IT resiliency, reliability, and well architected frameworks as it relates to on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of risk management, business continuity, and DR tools and best practices.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, System Analysis, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Cloud platforms such as Azure, Google, and AWS.
  • Prior experience conducting Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
  • Expert understanding of public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Well Architected Frameworks for cloud environments.
  • Familiarity of server replication and backup tools such as Zerto and Commvault, and Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
  • Industry recognized certification in Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery - Certification from DRII or BCI or similar a plus.
  • Experience with DR governance / control frameworks (NIST, ISO 27031).
  • Solid understanding of technology landscape as it relates to disaster recovery including operating systems (Windows, UNIX, Linux), server management, information security, networking, application development, storage and backup, virtualization and/or cloud.
  • Desired ITIL foundation certificate.
  • CBCP or equivalent certification preferred.
