What does a flight booking agent do?

A flight booking agent assists customers with reserving airline tickets, finding the best available flights, and providing information about flight schedules, pricing, and airline policies. They often work for travel agencies, airlines, or online travel platforms, and help travelers navigate options for routes, layovers, and special requests. Their role may also include managing changes to bookings, assisting with cancellations, and ensuring travelers have all necessary documentation for their journey.

To thrive as a Flight Booking Agent, you need strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and a good understanding of airline reservation processes, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency with Global Distribution Systems (GDS) like Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo, and experience using booking and ticketing platforms are typically required.
