WORK OPTION: Remote
Position Summary
This role supports the NBA and its affiliated leagues by designing high-impact visual communications, crafting compelling narratives, and assisting with media relations. The position plays a key role in social media content creation, internal messaging, and game-night operations, ensuring the seamless flow of information to media and stakeholders. This role requires a dynamic professional with strong design skills and a deep understanding of storytelling in sports.
Major Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Communication Support
  • Serve as a secondary designer for social media graphics, media guides, information packets, newsletters, and additional resources across the NBA and affiliated leagues.
  • Design and develop communication templates to enhance internal messaging and promote key league events across all five leagues.
  • Act as a backup manager for the Communications team's social media accounts, ensuring consistent and strategic messaging.

Storyline Development & Content Strategy
  • Contribute to the NBA Storyline Creation Team by conceptualizing and developing engaging narratives around teams, players, rivalries, and league milestones.
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify and validate compelling storylines that resonate with fans and media.
  • Explore innovative storytelling mediums such as virtual reality, social media and podcasts to enhance fan engagement.

On-Duty Game Night Communications Support
  • Serve as the On-Duty Communications Representative as needed during the NBA season, including preseason and postseason games.
  • Act as the primary liaison between requesting media members and the NBA Replay Center for any pool report requests.
  • Monitor live games, promptly report any issues to relevant departments, and facilitate Pool Reporter interviews with the Crew Chief.
  • Record, transcribe, and verify the accuracy of pool reports before distributing them internally and to the media, teams, and the NBA Official website.

On-Site League Event Support
  • Provide communications and media relations support at major events across all five leagues, including: NBA All-Star, NBA Draft, NBA Summer League, NBA G-League Showcase. Assist with media coordination, press materials, and real-time event communications to ensure smooth operations and maximize coverage.

Salary Range:
$2,500-$2,884.62 / Bi-Weekly
