About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Underwriter in Consumer Lending in Auto

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze complex consumer credit applications for auto loans.

  • Evaluate credit bureau reports, income documentation, collateral valuation, and other supporting materials.

  • Make sound credit decisions within established authority levels using both automated scoring systems and manual underwriting.

  • Communicate decisions and rationale clearly to internal partners and customers.

  • Ensure credit files are complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory and company standards.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve application issues and provide recommendations.

  • Maintain awareness of risk and compliance requirements throughout the underwriting process.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in underwriting, loan processing, originations, or closing.

  • Strong understanding of credit principles and lending practices.

  • Proficiency in reviewing financial documents and assessing creditworthiness.

  • Extensive experience in auto lending or consumer finance.

  • Familiarity with underwriting systems and tools.
