Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to join our team at Sarasota Memorial Medical Center. This full-time remote position will focus on providing high-quality mental health support to individuals experiencing various emotional and psychological challenges. As a vital part of our hospice center, you will engage with clients in meaningful ways, facilitating therapeutic interventions that promote healing and resilience.

  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to evaluate clients' mental health concerns, strengths, and available resources.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and trauma-focused therapy.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that align with the clientโ€™s therapeutic goals and interventions, adjusting as needed based on progress.
  • Engage in regular collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and facilitate risk assessments and safety planning to support clients in distress.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of services provided in compliance with ethical and legal standards, ensuring timely communication of treatment updates.
  • Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions, psychoeducational classes, and support groups focused on community building and shared experiences.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve an adult population dealing with complex mental health issues, including hospice patients and their families who may be facing end-of-life challenges. You will work compassionately to support clients through their emotional and psychological struggles, helping them find pathways toward healing and acceptance during difficult times. This requires a profound understanding of grief, loss, and the unique dynamics of hospice care.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution, ensuring a strong foundation in clinical practices.
  • Active state licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health or outpatient setting, with a solid understanding of therapeutic methods and patient engagement strategies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and assessment skills to effectively connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • In-depth knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to the needs of hospice patients.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in hospice or palliative care settings preferred, as well as familiarity with grief counseling.
  • Proven ability to implement treatment plans and monitor progress effectively.

Compensation and Benefits
