What is a remote UGC creator?

A remote UGC (User-Generated Content) creator is someone who produces content such as photos, videos, reviews, or testimonials for brands or companies from a remote location, rather than working on-site. UGC creators typically use their own devices to create authentic content that brands can use for marketing and social media. This role allows for flexible work schedules and the opportunity to collaborate with various companies, often on a freelance or contract basis.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote UGC creator?

To thrive as a Remote UGC Creator, you need creativity, strong writing or visual content skills, and an understanding of digital marketing or social media trends, often supported by a portfolio of work. Familiarity with content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or smartphone editing apps is typically required. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and adaptability are standout soft skills for collaborating with brands and managing your workflow remotely. These skills enable creators to produce engaging content that aligns with brand goals while maintaining flexibility and professionalism in a remote environment.

What are some common challenges faced by remote UGC creators, and how can they be overcome?

Remote UGC creators often face challenges such as staying motivated without in-person supervision, managing tight deadlines, and ensuring their content aligns with brand guidelines. Building a structured daily routine, utilizing project management tools, and maintaining clear communication with clients or team members can help overcome these hurdles. Additionally, regularly reviewing feedback and participating in online UGC communities can provide support and inspiration, making it easier to stay productive and creative while working remotely.

Job description

We are a global digital agency comprised of strategists, creatives, media experts, data scientists, and engineers driven by one common purpose - accelerate business growth through marketing and digital transformation. Named a top 3% Google Premier Partner and recognized by Inc. 5000 and Adweek's 75 Fastest Growing Companies, we're constantly looking for "A" players to join our team.
The rapid growth is attributed to our strongest asset - our people. Our teams are highly collaborative and work closely with each client to set clear goals and objectives so that we can deliver exceptional results. Mindgruve is a place where every opinion is valued. Not only will you be empowered to contribute ideas, but you will also play a key role in the execution and driving success for brands across a variety of industries. Sound fun? Perfect - you'll fit right in.
The Social Media Manager is a platform-savvy, creatively driven team member who brings brand strategies to life through compelling content, consistent community engagement, and data-informed optimization. This role is central to the day-to-day execution of social programs across multiple client accounts, working closely with strategists, creators, and account teams to deliver content that resonates with audiences and drives meaningful results.
What You'll Do Here
  • Manage and execute content calendars across platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit, X, and Pinterest.
  • Track performance metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis, highlighting top-performing content and proactively flagging low-performing posts.
  • Utilize social measurement and scheduling tools at an intermediate level - including Sprinklr, Meta Business Manager, Sprout Social, and social listening platforms.
  • Understand how KPIs are calculated, what they mean, and what they measure; contribute to client reporting with performance insights and observations.
  • Identify trends from platforms and competitors by proactively following and tracking both; flag relevant opportunities to the Social Strategist or Senior Strategist.
  • Explore user comments, questions, and UGC for inspiration and audience insights; support community management across active brand accounts.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of brand followers and their communities, applying that knowledge to content recommendations.
  • Transform content ideas and briefs from Social Strategists into coherent outlines, copy, and platform-ready posts with minimal supervision.
  • Write captions and short-form copy that match a predefined tone of voice and platform best practices.
  • Ensure all published content meets accessibility standards (alt text, readable text overlays, sound-off design).
  • Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions based on industry trends, competitor activity, and community feedback.
  • Confidently communicate with creative and account teams to align on needs, flag blockers, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Flag posts that need updates due to platform changes and escalate issues appropriately.

We Need a Person With
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a relevant field.
  • 2-4 years of experience managing social media for brands, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools (Sprinklr, Sprout, Hootsuite, or similar).
  • Experience writing social copy and managing content calendars.
  • Familiarity with community management practices.
  • Basic understanding of social analytics and reporting.
  • Experience with short-form video content and platform-native tools is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit, X, and Pinterest.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice across brands.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts.
  • Proactive communicator - flags delays, asks clarifying questions, and anticipates next steps.
  • Ability to receive and apply feedback quickly.
  • Collaborative team player who works well with strategists, designers, and content creators.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for social media culture, trends, and platform innovation.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Additionally, for eligible full-time employees, we offer a competitive benefits package including medical insurance, dental insurance, and vision insurance; a flexible spending account; voluntary life and accident plans; and a 401(k) retirement plan with matching. We have six office locations in the US: San Diego, California, Los Angeles, California, Covington, Kentucky, Denver, Colorado, Nashville, Tennessee and Charleston, South Carolina. We're seeking local candidates (or those open to relocation) who are able to work collaboratively with us in one of our office's; however, based on business needs and unique job functions, some roles may be eligible for remote work. (Bonus points if you're bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese.)
Mindgruve is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
