Remote Uat Tester information

What is a remote UAT tester?

Remote UAT (User Acceptance Testing) Testers are professionals who work from a remote location to evaluate software or systems before they go live. Their main responsibility is to ensure that the software meets business requirements and is user-friendly by simulating real-world scenarios and providing feedback. They collaborate with stakeholders and end users, document issues, and verify that fixes work as intended. Remote UAT Testers play a key role in minimizing defects and ensuring a positive end-user experience.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a remote UAT tester?

To thrive as a Remote UAT Tester, you need a solid understanding of software testing principles, user acceptance testing methodologies, and familiarity with business requirements, often supported by a degree in computer science or related experience. Experience with test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, and defect tracking systems, as well as knowledge of test case design, is typically expected. Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently are crucial soft skills in this remote role. These skills ensure comprehensive, accurate testing and clear feedback to development teams, leading to successful software releases that meet end-user needs.

What challenges do remote UAT testers face and how can they be managed?

Remote UAT testers often encounter challenges such as coordinating with stakeholders across different time zones, accessing test environments securely, and ensuring clear communication about defects or requirements. To address these, it's important to establish regular check-ins, use collaborative tools like Jira or Slack for transparent tracking, and clarify expectations early in the process. Building strong documentation habits and proactively reaching out to clarify ambiguities can also help maintain the quality and pace of user acceptance testing in a remote setup.

While both roles require similar certifications and work remotely, Uat Testers specialize in user acceptance testing, making their role more business-focused.

We are seeking an Associate Digital Project Specialist to support the development, execution, and management of digital customer experience initiatives within our marketing team.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in both marketing and technology. They will work closely with engineering, UX/UI designers, compliance, QA/UAT, analytics, and marketing stakeholders to help move projects from concept through launch and post launch management. While coding experience is not required, the ideal candidate should be comfortable collaborating with technical teams and learning digital product workflows. This role offers an opportunity to develop experience in digital project management, customer experience strategy, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced marketing environment.

This role can be 100% remote from anywhere in the U.S.; however, employees are expected to work East Coast business hours. The position pays between $65,000 and $80,000 annually, plus an annual bonus.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the execution of digital customer experience initiatives ranging from small enhancements to large cross-functional projects, managing day-to-day activities and ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, stakeholder communications, approvals, dependencies, and launch readiness activities, exercising judgment to escalate risks and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including business requirements, technical requirements, user stories, QA/UAT findings, compliance feedback, and project tickets, ensuring accuracy and completeness across all deliverables.
  • Serve as a cross-functional liaison between engineering, UX/UI, analytics, compliance, QA/UAT, and marketing teams, facilitating communication and driving alignment to support successful project delivery
  • Participate in and contribute to agile workflows including sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, testing, release coordination, and post-launch activities, applying independent judgment to recommend process improvements
  • Evaluate and prioritize digital enhancements, feature requests, customer feedback, and usability improvements, making recommendations based on business impact, feasibility, and customer value.
  • Translate business and stakeholder requirements into organized technical and design requirements for development and UX/UI teams.
  • Support implementation and testing of customer-facing digital experiences including dashboard enhancements, calculators, engagement tools, digital campaigns, banner placements, and self-service features.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI teams by reviewing wireframes, developing basic mockups or workflow concepts, and communicating stakeholder vision and copy direction to inform design decisions.
  • Analyze digital experience performance metrics and customer feedback to identify optimization opportunities, measure initiative success, and present data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify project risks, blockers, gaps, and dependencies, exercising judgment to determine appropriate escalation paths and communicate timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, meeting notes, status updates, and reporting materials, ensuring stakeholders have consistent visibility into project progress.
  • Provide flexible support for additional marketing initiatives, operational tasks, and cross-functional projects as business needs evolve.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Information Systems, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, digital project coordination, product support, technical writing, or related roles; mortgage servicing or financial services experience preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across cross-functional teams
  • Interest in digital customer experiences, emerging technology, and customer-focused problem solving
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum workflows and project management tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, or similar platforms
  • Experience creating project documentation, requirement documents, user stories, process flows, or technical specifications
  • Exposure to UX/UI collaboration and design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Miro, or similar platforms preferred
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycles, QA/UAT testing processes, APIs/integrations, analytics tagging, A/B testing, and digital implementation workflows preferred
  • Familiarity with mortgage servicing systems, customer portals, authentication/SSO experiences, or customer self-service tools is a plus
  • Ability to analyze and interpret digital performance metrics and customer feedback to evaluate initiative effectiveness and identify optimization opportunities
