Job description

We are seeking an experienced Tree Climber / Arborist to join our tree care team. This position is for someone who is comfortable working at height, understands proper pruning practices, and can safely and efficiently perform residential tree trimming and removals.

Responsibilities

  • Climb trees using modern climbing techniques and equipment, including rope-and-saddle systems
  • Perform structural, clearance, and maintenance pruning using proper arboricultural practices
  • Perform tree removals, including technical and sectional removals when necessary
  • Safely operate chainsaws and other arboricultural equipment while aloft
  • Set and use climbing lines, rigging systems, lowering devices, and ropes
  • Identify hazardous limbs, structural defects, decay, and other potential safety concerns
  • Work safely around homes, walls, landscaping, vehicles, utilities, and other property
  • Communicate effectively with the ground crew to coordinate rigging and removal operations
  • Assist with jobsite setup, cleanup, equipment maintenance, and ground operations as needed
  • Follow company safety procedures and maintain a professional appearance and attitude on customers' properties

Qualifications

  • Previous professional tree climbing experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to safely climb and work at height for extended periods
  • Experience with chainsaws, rigging, and tree removal techniques
  • Knowledge of proper pruning techniques and tree care practices
  • Strong understanding of jobsite and climbing safety
  • Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions, including Arizona heat
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • ISA Certified Arborist, CDL, aerial rescue training, or other industry certifications are a plus, but not required

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality tree work and understands that proper tree care is more than simply cutting branches. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, efficient, works well with a crew, and can make good decisions while working independently in the tree.

Experience with SRT/SRS climbing, advanced rigging, large removals, palms, and desert tree species is a major plus.
