• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, ensuring thorough documentation from the initial consultation to the conclusion of treatment.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at addressing the specific mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs of clients.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that promote self-discovery, healing, and coping strategies.
• Monitor and assess client progress regularly, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on feedback and therapeutic goals.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, social workers, and other mental health specialists, to create cohesive intervention strategies.
• Coordinate with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding clients who require inpatient care, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of care.
• Proactively identify and address behaviors that hinder recovery, equipping clients and their families with tools to manage challenges effectively.
• Provide education and support to family members and primary caregivers, empowering them to better assist their loved ones in their mental health journey.

Our clientele includes individuals, couples, families, and groups from diverse backgrounds, facing a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. The incumbent will be crucial in providing culturally sensitive care, ensuring that every client feels understood, validated, and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to document client interactions and treatment plans thoroughly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate clear dialogue with clients and interdisciplinary team members.

• A demonstrated track record of experience as a mental health counselor, with familiarity in working with individuals who have co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions.
• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and a deep understanding of the effects of medications prescribed by medical specialists.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills that foster trust and connection with clients and colleagues alike.

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience, along with a sign-on bonus.
