Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Travel Medical Assistant (TMA) Team Lead is a peer level leadership role within the Operations team, reporting to the Operations Supervisor. In this role, you will support the Operations Supervisor with a team of medical assistants deployed to various long-term care facilities to ensure successful delivery of IPVs. This position will require organization, dependability, punctuality, and good communication skills.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of the Travel Medical Assistant role.
  • Maintain a travel productivity rate of minimally 50% to 60% each month based on home location, visit demand and ability to travel locally vs overnight.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert and escalation point for assigned travel medical assistants, providing real time peer level support to resolve day-to-day operational questions and workflow challenges before escalating to the Supervisor as needed.
  • Support the rollout of new processes and initiatives for the TMA team by communicating updates to peers, answering workflow questions, and providing feedback to leadership on adoption challenges.
  • Proactively identify workflow inefficiencies and communicate observations to the Supervisor and Operations team to support onsite visits and remote work completion.
  • Model and reinforce adherence to policies, procedures, and TMA workflows; escalate concerns, risks, or compliance issues to leadership promptly and with appropriate documentation.
  • Support the onsite and remote training and onboarding of new and existing Travel Medical Assistants by delivering structured workflow guidance and flagging competency concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Assist with troubleshoot travel logistics and remote assignments.
  • Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to team members and new hires to enhance their knowledge of our operations.
  • Audit TMA talk tracks and assignments to accuracy workflow adoption.
  • Troubleshoot EMR issues for the team.
  • Connect MAs with their assigned Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) when newly paired to ensure the appropriate workflow.
  • Maintain frequent clear, concise communication with the Travel Medical Assistants and Operations Supervisors.
  • All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to travel onsite 50%-60% each month.
  • Current CMA/CCMA/RMA Certificate or completion of a CAAHEP accredited/medical assisting program.
  • Proof of CPR and First Aid Certification (For all Onsite or Hybrid Remote Medical Assistants)
  • 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in primary care: internal medicine, geriatrics, or family medicine.
  • Reliable transportation and unrestricted driver's license
  • Willing to travel per the above requirements. May require occasional weekends as needed but primary work schedule will be M - F.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), TriMed, Monday, Virtual Meeting Programs, and Various EHR Systems.
  • May be required to have COVID-19/FLU vaccination per the facilities state guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to show strong personal initiative and take ownership over work results.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and maintain organization throughout different systems.

The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $28/hr - $30/hr. This hybrid travel position follows a location-based compensation structure. The posted salary range represents the potential pay range across various U.S. geographic markets. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's primary work location, experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.
