What are some common challenges faced by remote travel writers, and how can they be overcome?

Remote travel writers often face challenges such as managing deadlines across different time zones, maintaining consistent communication with editors, and ensuring access to reliable internet while traveling. Staying organized with digital tools, setting clear expectations with editors, and planning connectivity in advance can help overcome these obstacles. Building a network of fellow writers and leveraging online communities also provides support and resource-sharing opportunities specific to remote work.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote travel writer?

To thrive as a Remote Travel Writer, you need excellent writing skills, a knack for storytelling, strong research abilities, and a solid understanding of travel trends, often supported by a degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and social media platforms is typically required. Creativity, adaptability, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for generating engaging content and meeting deadlines while working independently. These skills ensure high-quality, engaging travel content that resonates with audiences and supports the goals of publishers or clients in a competitive digital landscape.

What is remote travel writing?

Remote travel writing involves creating articles, blogs, guides, or reviews about travel destinations, experiences, or tips while working from a location outside a traditional office—often from home or while traveling. Remote travel writers research destinations, conduct interviews, and share personal experiences to inform and inspire readers. This role typically requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and an ability to capture the essence of places and cultures. Many remote travel writers work as freelancers, pitching their work to magazines, websites, or travel companies. The job offers flexibility and the chance to combine a passion for travel with creative storytelling.

Job description

Supply Chain Specialist - Kids Dental Brands

Founded in 2002, Kids Dental Brands has been dedicated to providing high-quality dental care to children of all backgrounds in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. With nearly 60 practices across the country, we continue to grow by staying true to our patient-centered, doctor-led philosophy.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive Supply Chain Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will manage procurement, sourcing, quoting, and inventory functions that keep our offices running smoothly. You’ll play a key part in new office launches, refresh projects, and company-wide sourcing and logistics initiatives.

This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally, contribute to cost-saving strategies, and support RFPs and DeNovo (new office) buildouts. As a daily point of contact for offices, you’ll provide hands-on support while helping drive improvements across the supply chain.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, and collaborative, with the ability to balance multiple priorities, travel when needed, and consistently deliver solutions that improve performance.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Review and approve office supply orders.

  • Manage backorders and discontinued items to ensure continuity of operations.

  • Support cost reduction and cost-saving implementation strategies.

  • Provide daily supply chain support and serve as point of contact (POC) for assigned offices.

  • Lead supply chain setup for DeNovo offices, including creation and tracking of supplier orders.

  • Coordinate uniform program setup for DeNovos, new hires, and existing offices as needed.

  • Provide tactical support during supplier RFP processes.

  • Assist in implementing negotiated supplier savings across the organization.

  • Maintain Dentira ordering platform, including updates, accuracy, and user setup/deactivation.

  • Manage IT ticketing and warranty process for IO Sensors.

  • Conduct inventory audits for IO Sensors, Nomads, and other assigned assets.

  • Act as backup POC for offices as needed.

  • Collaborate with construction, IT, and regional leadership during DeNovo launches.

  • Provide support for ad-hoc supply chain projects and initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation,Schedule, and Travel

  • Salary: $65,000-$75,000 depending on experience

  • Job Type: Full-time. Remote

  • Travel: This is a primarily remote position based in a home office, with frequent travel (25–30%). Travel schedules must remain flexible, as construction timelines are subject to change with new office setups. The work environment also includes time within a dental clinic environment.

Benefits That Support You Personally and Professionally:

At Kids Dental Brands, we offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and future. Our offerings for this role include:

  • Health Coverage - Medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.

  • Supplemental Benefits - Voluntary life insurance, short- and long-term disability, legal assistance, identity theft protection, critical illness, hospitalization, and cancer insurance.

  • Wellness Program - Incentive-based wellness initiatives to support your physical and mental health, plus access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

  • Financial Security - 401(k) retirement plan with company match to help you plan for the future.

  • Paid Time Off - Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with paid time off, eight (8) paid holidays annually, and dedicated wellness days.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4+ years of Supply Chain experience; dental/healthcare industry preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables) and supply chain platforms (Dentira preferred).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and ordering platforms.

  • Not required, but APICS/CSCP or similar preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods; ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.

Join our team and help drive our mission that all children, regardless of family income, deserve access to high-quality dental care, in a kid-friendly and fun environment!
