Remote Travel Operations information

What is remote travel operations?

Remote Travel Operations refer to the management and coordination of travel-related services and logistics from a location outside a traditional office setting. Professionals in this field handle tasks such as booking flights and accommodations, managing travel itineraries, assisting clients with travel needs, and troubleshooting issues, all using digital tools and communication platforms. This role is essential for travel agencies, corporate travel departments, and online travel companies that support clients or employees who are traveling. Working remotely in travel operations allows for greater flexibility and often requires strong organizational and communication skills.

What skills and qualifications are needed for remote travel operations?

To thrive as a Remote Travel Operations Specialist, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in travel planning or hospitality management, often supported by a relevant degree or industry certification (such as CTA or CTC). Proficiency with travel booking platforms (like Sabre, Amadeus, or Galileo), CRM systems, and online communication tools is essential. Excellent problem-solving abilities, customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently in a virtual environment are standout soft skills. These skills ensure seamless travel arrangements, high client satisfaction, and efficient resolution of issues from a remote setting.

What are common challenges in remote travel operations and how can they be managed?

A Remote Travel Operations role often involves coordinating travel arrangements, managing itineraries, and resolving issues for clients across different time zones. Common challenges include communicating effectively with clients and vendors remotely, handling last-minute changes or cancellations, and staying updated on travel restrictions or policies. To manage these, professionals rely on strong organizational skills, proactive communication, and the use of digital tools for collaboration and real-time updates. Building relationships with reliable partners and staying flexible also help ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, data-driven Account Manager to support two strategic OEM customers. This role is responsible for managing customer relationships, driving commercial performance, coordinating cross-functional activities, and providing disciplined account management practices that support long-term growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who excels at customer management, analytics, business processes, and commercial execution. While experience with appliance OEMs is a plus, we are primarily seeking an individual with strong account management fundamentals and a demonstrated ability to manage customer business using facts, metrics, and data.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, comfortable working across the U.S. and Mexico, and capable of building strong relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary Account Manager for 2 appliance customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships across purchasing, engineering, quality, and operations functions.
  • Track and manage account performance through a disciplined, data-based approach.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation, account activity records, and customer communication logs.
  • Monitor quote activity, track win/loss results, and identify opportunities to improve commercial performance.
  • Analyze customer trends, market share, revenue performance, and pricing strategies.
  • Support and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory issues and coordinate recovery plans when required.
  • Develop account forecasts and support sales planning activities.
  • Coordinate customer requests and issue resolution with engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and plant teams.
  • Prepare and present account performance reports, business analyses, and customer updates.
  • Identify growth opportunities and support new business development efforts within assigned accounts.
  • Travel regularly to customer and manufacturing locations throughout the United States and Mexico.
Travel Requirements

This position requires regular travel to customer and manufacturing locations, including:

  • Monterrey
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
  • 3–8 years of experience in account management, customer service, sales support, program management, or commercial operations.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and customer account documentation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate business data effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing OEM or manufacturing customer accounts.
  • Knowledge of pricing analysis, forecasting, and commercial business processes.
  • Experience conducting customer business reviews and presenting to leadership teams.
  • Familiarity with supply chain, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
  • Experience with market share analysis, revenue tracking, and sales performance metrics.
What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will be:

  • A disciplined account manager rather than an order processor.
  • Data-driven and comfortable using facts and analytics to make business recommendations.
  • Proactive in identifying risks, opportunities, and customer needs.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and accountability.
  • Comfortable engaging with executives, purchasing teams, plant leadership, and customers.
