Job description

Mid-South Territory - Three Openings

Location: Remote, within 300 miles of Memphis, TN | Work model: Remote and field-based across the territory; company vehicle or allowance | Full-time

Confidential, retained search | Raymond Search Group

Build a territory from zero. Sell on outcomes, not price. Earn on the margin you create.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is rebuilding the Mid-South industrial water-treatment territory and is hiring three representatives to own it end to end - prospecting through contract close - selling process water, high-purity systems, and mobile and portable deionization into industrial plants, laboratories, and commercial facilities. An incoming President & Chief Sales Officer is professionalizing the commercial organization; early hires set the template.

The honest version: no inherited book, no protected base, and a catchment running 300 miles in every direction.

The incumbents are global water conglomerates and national service providers, so most of what you win you will take from them.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • The territory. The Mid-South end to end - territory plan, target accounts, pricing posture, and every relationship in it.
  • The whole cycle. Prospecting through diagnosis, proposal, negotiation, and close, then expansion. No handoff at the interesting part.
  • The margin. Commission is earned on gross-margin dollars, not revenue, so how you structure and defend a deal changes what you earn.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • New-intake and margin at or above the plan.
  • Self-generated pipeline coverage by month three to four.
  • New-logo acquisition across priority verticals.
  • Recurring service and consumables growth in the accounts you open.
  • CRM discipline at a forecastable standard.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A demonstrable record of self-generated pipeline and net-new logo wins in B2B, solution-oriented sales.
  • The consultative range to diagnose a water problem on a plant floor, quantify the cost of inaction, and hold price against a cheaper quote.
  • The discipline to run 300 miles of territory unsupervised, and the resilience to do it before the pipeline exists.
  • Residence within 300 miles of Memphis, or a firm commitment to relocate into the territory.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Water treatment, industrial services, process equipment, or chemical sales background.
  • Plant-level relationships across the Mid-South footprint.
  • Experience selling against national incumbents on value rather than price.

COMPENSATION

$90,000 base with $150,000 on-target earnings on a 60/40 plan, uncapped above target. Commission paid on

gross-margin dollars generated, so higher-margin work pays proportionally more. Structured first-year draw,

company vehicle or allowance, and full benefits.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading international provider of water, wastewater, vapor-emissions, and material-recovery

treatment and process-filtration solutions, with decades of expertise in Europe and a long-established North

American presence. The business delivers engineered solutions and services that address its customers' most

demanding water challenges, with sustainability at the core of everything it does. Full company detail and the

growth plan are shared with candidates under confidentiality.

ABOUT THE SEARCH

This is a confidential retained search conducted by Raymond Search Group, an executive search firm specializing

in the built environment. The client is named following an initial confidential conversation with the search team.

All inquiries are handled in strict confidence, and no candidate information is shared with the client without

prior consent. Questions before applying: jeff@raymondsearchgroup.com | 904-618-3460.
