Summary
About the Position: This position is located at the Blue Grass Army Depot, Kentucky, and serves as a Supervisory Traffic Management Specialist responsible for the overall technical and administrative management and direction of transportation.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required
  • In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering)
  • at the assigned proficiency level: 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2) Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap).
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE-450 is required for this position.
  • You may be required to travel for this position.
  • Heavy lifting up to 25lbs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes Developing traffic management operations to ensure the movement of freight and supplies; applying transportation policies, regulations, and procedures; providing guidance regarding shipments, including the handling and containerization of hazardous materials; and utilizing automated transportation and logistics systems to track or coordinate cargo movements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or with a major study in business administration or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, engineering or data science.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

  • Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended
    beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years
  • Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will
    be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent positions.
