Can you work remotely as a remote trader?

Remote traders can often work from home or any location with internet access, depending on the employer and the trading platform used. Many trading roles require strong computer skills, familiarity with trading software, and adherence to security protocols. Remote trading is common in financial markets, but some positions may require occasional in-person meetings or specific certifications.

What does a remote trader do?

A remote trader works from home to handle virtual trading tasks, earning a commission by making the accounts of clients and businesses profitable. As a remote trader, your responsibilities have you handling financial investments, bonds, shares and assets, stocks, and funds on behalf of your clients or trading company. Your duties require you to use research skills to analyze trading results and make fast decisions to buy and sell, with the goal of making as much money as possible with reduced risks. You communicate with other traders and clients through phone calls, emails, and system messages. The term ‘remote trader’ may also refer to traders who work for themselves or day traders.

What are some common challenges remote traders face, and how can they effectively manage them?

Remote traders often encounter challenges such as maintaining discipline without direct supervision, staying updated with real-time market news, and managing feelings of isolation. To address these, it's crucial to establish a structured daily routine, leverage reliable trading platforms with integrated news feeds, and participate in online trading communities or virtual team meetings. Consistent communication with colleagues and ongoing professional development can also help remote traders stay connected and effective in their roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote trader, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Trader, you need a solid understanding of financial markets, analytical skills, and typically a degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Proficiency with trading platforms (such as MetaTrader or Bloomberg Terminal), technical analysis tools, and real-time data software is essential. Strong decision-making, discipline, and the ability to manage risk under pressure make individuals stand out in this position. These skills ensure effective trade execution, risk mitigation, and consistent performance in a fast-moving remote environment.

What is a remote trader?

A Remote Trader is a financial professional who buys and sells securities, commodities, or other financial instruments from a location outside of a traditional office or trading floor, often working from home. Job description

Why this role is on the menu

Eversight - an Instacart company - is the recognized leader in AI-powered promotion optimization, and we're now expanding into a broader Data Solutions platform powered by Instacart's unparalleled retail data. Global brands like Coca-Cola, Frito-Lay, and Hershey already rely on us to drive higher ROI on promotional spend - and the opportunity ahead is even bigger. We're hiring an enterprise Account Executive who is a true hunter: someone energized by building new relationships, opening new logos, and helping the world's leading CPGs transform the way they plan, execute, and evaluate trade promotions. This is a high-earnings, high-impact role at the frontier of CPG data and analytics.

What you'll cook up in your first year
  • A pipeline of net-new CPG logos sourced, progressed, and closed - consistently hitting a cadence of 10-12 deals per year at an average deal size of $80k-$120k.
  • C-suite and VP-level relationships built at target enterprise accounts, with Eversight's Offer Innovation Suite and Data Products clearly positioned against what matters most to their revenue growth management, insights, and category management teams.
  • Complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles owned end-to-end - from champion development through executive alignment, negotiation, and close - with Salesforce reflecting a clean, forecastable pipeline throughout.
  • A seamless handoff and expansion motion co-developed with the SDR, Pre-Sales, and Customer Success teams - ensuring new logos land well and are set up for renewal and growth.
  • Direct influence on how Eversight goes to market - bringing customer insights, competitive signals, and deal learnings back into the product and commercial strategy.
The secret ingredients we're looking for

Must-have pantry staples (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of quota-carrying experience selling complex technology and data solutions, with a proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales quota.

  • Demonstrated success closing 10-12 deals per year with an average deal size of $80k-$120k in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle from business champion to C-level, including selling to personas such as Chief Customer Officer, VP of RGM, Head of Insights, Head of Category Management, CFO, and CEO.
  • Proven ability to establish trust and credibility at target companies through a consultative approach, executive presence, and a keen command of your solution's value.
  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com and standard productivity tools (Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, Lucidchart, etc.).
  • Willingness and ability to travel 40% of the time.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
