SAP S/4HANA Technical Consultant

Location: Remote / Onsite as needed (Client is in TX)

Type: Contract / Full-time

Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Technical Consultant to support a large-scale S/4 implementation. This role combines hands‑on technical development with solution design, integration expertise, and strong understanding of SAP business processes. You will work directly with customer stakeholders and serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver technical solutions within SAP S/4HANA, including enhancements, extensions, and custom development.
  • Build and support integrations using SAP Integration Suite (CPI), REST/SOAP APIs, IDocs, ALE/EDI.
  • Implement payment tokenization and PCI‑DSS‑compliant interfaces with payment gateway vendors.
  • Develop guest login and anonymous session capabilities across Fiori, SAP Commerce (Hybris), or custom portals.
  • Produce technical designs, perform unit testing, troubleshoot issues, and support SIT/UAT cycles.
  • Collaborate with functional teams (SD, MM, FI, Commerce) to ensure alignment with SAP best practices.
  • Participate in blueprint/design workshops and provide technical feasibility guidance.
  • Communicate solution options and trade-offs to business and IT stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • 8 - 12 years of SAP S/4HANA technical experience.
  • Strong ABAP/ABAP OO skills (enhancements, BAdIs, user exits, RFCs, forms).
  • Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5, OData services, and custom app development.
  • Proficiency with SAP Integration Suite (CPI) or PI/PO, MuleSoft, Boomi.
  • Hands‑on experience with REST/SOAP services, JSON/XML, and API management.
  • Knowledge of S/4HANA extensibility (in-app, side-by-side, RAP).
  • Familiarity with SAP BTP services.

Integration Experience

  • SAP-to-third‑party integrations (payment gateways, CRM, eCommerce, identity providers).
  • Payment processing, tokenization, and PCI‑DSS experience (preferred).
  • OAuth 2.0, SAML, SSO configuration.
  • IDoc/ALE/EDI configuration and monitoring.

Process Knowledge

  • Understanding of at least two areas: SD, MM, FI/CO, or SAP Commerce.
  • Familiarity with S/4HANA Simplification List and ECC differences.
  • Knowledge of core master data (BP, Material Master, Customer/Vendor).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) or SAP CX.
  • Knowledge of SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, or embedded analytics.
  • Exposure to DevOps (CI/CD, gCTS, ATC).
  • SAP certifications in S/4HANA development or integration.
  • Prior consulting/SI experience.
