Pay Range: $69,000 - $85,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications

MITER Brands is a residential window and door manufacturer that provides a leading portfolio of window and door brands for the new construction and replacement segments. MITER Brands, also known as Milgard, MI Windows & Doors and PGTI is one of the nation's largest suppliers of vinyl windows and patio doors, with plants across the country.

The Leave Specialist II position exists to serve as the primary contact to support our HR Generalist, Team Members, Legal, and our 3rd Party Leave Administrator to ensure accurate, timely and compliant leave administration. This role is critical in ensuring a seamless coordination of leave, benefits, pay, RTW process, and system updates

Leave Administration

  • Primary Contact: Serve as the primary contact for HR Generalist, Leaders and Third Party Administrator throughout a TM's leave cycle
  • Benefits & Pay: Provide clear communication regarding benefits, pay continuation and other required actions

Payroll Coordination

  • Supplemental Leaves: Coordinate supplemental leave pay and ensure accuracy with the Payroll Team
  • Pay Discrepancies: Partner with payroll to resolve any pay discrepancies and ensure accurate team member compensation
  • Pay Validation: Validate leave-related pay calculations, including caregiver and childbirth recovery leaves

System Administration and Data Management

  • Accuracy: Maintain accurate leave records within Workday
  • Audit: Audit leave statuses, RTW dates and payroll integrations
  • Process Improvement: Identify any process improvements and automation opportunities

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive team member information appropriately
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws including FMLA, ADA, CFRA, PDL, and paid leave programs
  • Standardize Process: Create and support standardized processes and documentation to reduce compliance risk

Vendor Coordination

  • Leave Coordination: Partner with third-party leave administrator to ensure accuracy
  • Service Level: Monitor vendor service level and communication effectiveness
  • Escalation: Escalate delayed or inaccurate leave cases to ensure timely resolution
  • Return to Work Coordination: Coordinate RTW with HR, Leaders and team members to facilitate a smooth transition back to work
  • ADA Accommodations: Coordinate accommodations and ADA interactive process with legal and HR when necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Professional HR certification such asSHRM-CP/SCPorPHR/SPHRis highly preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in leave administration or HR Operations
  • Experience withWorkday,or similar HRIS and leave management software
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to navigate sensitive team member situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex legal requirements with empathy and clarity
