Field Installation Battery Technician Lead


Constant Power Technologies (CPT) is looking to grow our team. We are looking for a Field Installation Battery Technician Lead to travel to different customer sites and manage and assist a team in performing UPS and DC battery removal, installation, testing, and maintenance in varying environments including; Data Centers, Mines, Telecommunications and Utility Companies. Technician Leads will be responsible for supervising and assisting technicians with onsite activities. We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy candidate that possess excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to follow directions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and associated programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of various DC Power Meters used for testing of large data center batteries.
  • Ability to organize and delegate daily tasks of entire crew.
  • Ability to maximize job profitability and limit down time cost over-runs.
  • Possess effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to retain knowledge and have common sense.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and have the ability to travel at a moment's notice.
  • Cleaning driving record with valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to read and interpret multi meter readings used in the electrical trade.
  • Minimum of 4 years electrical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years DC Power Battery experience.

Job Duties

  • Assign job tasks and prepare follow up and double check QC procedures for each employee on crew.
  • Ability to communicate with crew and work with various types of personalities and help maintain positive morale and working/living environment.
  • Maintaining tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order.
  • Assist with workload scheduling of crews.
  • Loading and unloading batteries at site using rental forklift (forklift certification provided if no current certification).
  • Testing of new battery installations as well as exiting site batteries when applicable.
  • Compiling end of job battery reports and completing detailed highlights of report findings.
  • Organize and arrange tools and equipment needed for projects.
  • Remove and replace batteries that weight 20-800lbs with provided equipment.
  • Be able to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively to the crew details of daily projects.
  • Perform daily reports on project progress and events/findings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Payment and Benefits

CPT offers competitive pay and benefits. This position is an hourly, full-time position with shifts that vary site to site. Schedules typically run M-F with techs flying home for the weekend but changes depending on jobs and work load. Employees are paid travel per diem dependent upon jobs assigned. All flights and housing for travel are paid for and arranged by CPT. Per diem paid is for uber/lyft rides or airport parking and food while traveling.

After 90 days employees are benefit eligible. Benefits include:
