Job description

DC Power Telecom Technician Level II

Location: Nationwide / High Travel Required
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

As a DC Power Telecom Technician Level II, you will support the installation, modification, and maintenance of DC power and telecommunications equipment in Central Office, Data Center, Substation, and Outside Plant environments. This role focuses on performing assigned tasks safely and accurately while working under the direction of senior technicians or project leads. The ideal candidate has foundational DC power experience and is continuing to build technical expertise in telecom power systems.

PLEASE NOTE: This position requires a high degree of travel.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the installation, testing, and turn-up of DC power and telecommunications equipment

  • Perform additions and removals of battery strings under supervision

  • Support additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits

  • Assist with adding and removing circuits on DC power distribution equipment

  • Install auxiliary framing, relay racks, and related infrastructure

  • Read and follow job drawings, specifications, and work instructions

  • Follow established SMOPs and DMOPs during maintenance and cutover activities

  • Accurately complete job logs, work reports, and required documentation

  • Assist with DC audits, preventive maintenance, and basic inspections of DC power systems and standby batteries

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

  • Communicate job progress, issues, or concerns to the project lead or supervisor

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support senior technicians and leads during complex installations and maintenance activities

  • Participate in on-the-job training to build technical knowledge and skills

  • Adhere to company safety policies and customer site requirements

  • Maintain a professional attitude while delivering quality customer service

Qualifications
  • 24 years of experience in DC power, telecommunications, or related technical installation work

  • Basic understanding of DC power systems, batteries, and power distribution equipment

  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow written procedures

  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior technicians

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and as part of a team

  • Valid driver's license

  • OSHA 10 certification (preferred or willingness to obtain)

  • Must be a US Citizen
