Job description

As a member of PPG's Industrial Coatings sales team, you will be a strategic partner to our customers. In this Account Manager (Remote) role, you will focus on strengthening long-term relationships and driving sustainable growth within an established account base. You will center on deep customer engagement, understand evolving needs, ensuring operational excellence, and expanding PPG's value across main accounts through consultative partnership.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and grow existing customer accounts, ensuring long-term satisfaction, operational continuity, and expanded share of wallet.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans with clear goals, milestones, and growth targets tied to customer needs and business potential.
  • Drive incremental volume, revenue, and profitability within an assigned territory by nurturing relationships and improving product reach.
  • Coordinate resources-including technical service, R&D, marketing, and leadership-to support customer requirements and ensure seamless execution.
  • Assess near- and long-term customer needs, identifying opportunities for new technologies, product qualifications, and process improvements.
  • Develop comprehensive growth plans, including account profiles, customer trends, risks, and multi-year revenue and product roadmaps.
  • Forecast resource needs and align support teams to meet service expectations and operational commitments.
  • Lead negotiations and manage commercial agreements, ensuring mutual value and long-term partnership stability.
  • Communicate with the Sales Manager regarding KPIs, retention risks, growth opportunities, and overall account health.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience in industrial products or other technical markets.
  • Experience with the industrial coatings industry, technologies, and market dynamics.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term, trust-based customer relationships.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% to visit customers and attend meetings in the US (Canada/Mexico as needed).
