Remote Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) — Cottonwood, AZ

Location: Cottonwood, Arizona — Remote
Position Type: Full-Time | K–12

About the Role

This fully remote Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing position supports K–12 students across Arizona through virtual, school-based services. The role focuses on accessibility, consultation, instructional support, and collaboration with educational teams to help ensure students who are deaf or hard of hearing have appropriate access to instruction and services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide virtual instructional support and consultation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEP goals and communication plans
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families
  • Recommend and support assistive technology, accessibility tools, and accommodations
  • Participate in virtual IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Help ensure instructional materials and learning strategies are accessible to individual students

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
  • Active Arizona certification/licensure appropriate for serving students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • School-based experience supporting DHH students preferred
  • Strong understanding of accessibility, consultation, accommodations, and assistive technology
  • Virtual or remote service delivery experience preferred
  • Teaching certification may be required depending on district.
