Corporate Income Tax Specialist
Direct Hire
Remote – Work From Home
Salary: $80K - $120K annually

**Qualified candidates MUST be flexible to attending in office meetings, audits, etc - so must reside in the Greater Houston area**
Summary:
The Corporate Income Tax Specialist role focuses on managing federal and state income tax compliance, reporting, and audit defense. We’re looking for someone with strong technical knowledge of federal and state income tax laws, Corptax experience (a huge plus) and ability to research and interpret complex tax statutes and regulations. Candidates should have 4–8 years of income or franchise tax experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required; a CPA or MST is preferred, depending on experience level.
Job Responsibilities
Federal and State Income Tax Compliance
• Prepare federal income tax returns.
• Prepare state and local income/franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax calculations.
• Manage apportionment computations, state modifications, and NOLs.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with varying filing requirements and deadlines.
Audit Support
• Respond to tax audit inquiries, notices, and information requests.
Research & Planning
• Conduct research on complex tax issues, including nexus, apportionment, legislative updates, and emerging tax risks.
Required Skills / Knowledge
Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of income/franchise tax concepts (nexus, apportionment, unitary rules, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and common tax compliance systems. Corptax experience is a plus.
• Ability to research and interpret complex tax statutes and regulations.
Soft Skills
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Experience
